I need a replacement water pan for my aerocool evaporative cooler. The sheetmetal sturcture. Where can i get one on line.

Coolers like yours create a lot of condensate. Every time the door is opened warm moist air enters and changes back to a liquid state on the evaporator coils behind the fan and area you see moisture dripping down from top and back wall should be going down a drain pipe to the bottom of cooler and into a pan where a fan blows warm air over the condensate/water returning it back into the store or business that the cooler is located. Looking inside there shoud be a tray or pan that is at the base of the evaporator. True uses different parts but you need to see why the water is leaking from. All coolers produce water as a result of condensation which occurs when air is cooled. The water appears upon the radiator (technically called the evaporator) inside the cold area of the cooler. When the water drips off of the radiator, it is caught by a pan which may or may not be a removable piece. The pan should lean toward the rear of the cooler and the water should pour into a drain tube. The drain tube should lead down into the compressor area of the cooler and deposit the water into another pain which is outside of the cooler where it should evaporate back into the air. Sometimes "cardboard" fins are used to help the water evaporate. Sometimes a pan with a huge surface area is used to help the water evaporate. Other times the pan is literally on top of the compressor. Make sure the cooler itself is level. Make sure room air is able to move over the pan where the water is supposed to evaporate. Make sure the drain hose is not clogged. Make sure pans are not leaking.

Best way is to get a sheetmetal shop inyour area to make one for you.. Give them the exact size of the opening and then tell them you want a 3/4" flange all the way around and make sure the duct connection is what you need.. Let us know if you need anything else.. please vote.

The previous answer is wrong. He describes an overflow line not a bleeder line. An overflow line is not optional for the reason previous answer describes except that if you go away for vacation or other reason the water to the cooler should be shut off.

On the other hand a bleeder line is optional but highly suggested.
The purpose of a bleeder line in any application like brake systems and evpaorative coolers is to get rid of some unwanted elements. In brake lines air is the unwanted element. In evaporative coolers it is particles, scale and mineral build up. This happens because the constant evaporation ( the whole principle of water coolers) leaves behind particles, scale and mineral. without a bleeder line these things build up in the water reservoir. You flush your system manualy with a bleeder line or with the right control box and a separate pump it can be done automatically. If you do it manually, let it run long enuff to discharge at least as much water as your reservoir holds. direct this flow to plants so a not to waste the water.

Remove drain pipe from water pan. You can usually turn it counter clockwise. When drained, clean with fresh water and replace pipe buy placing pipe dope or teflon tape to avoid leaking.

This unit needs to be serviced. Try replacing the pads with the sponge like pads.Drain the old water and clean up the pan and pump area. Go down to a pool supply store and buy some chlorine tablets and add to the water. In fact, they make these tablets just for the evaporator units. There are 3 states to water, solid, liquid and gas,
. This will get rid of the smell.

Hi, unfortunate, sorry to hear that, but it could be repaired, you should immediately dried up water/ice around punctured area, prevent water/ moisture entering punctured area (evaporator. lines), it's one of the worst thing, that could happened to any refrigeration system, it will be costly to repaired, if water get into your evaporator lines, compressor oil have to be replaced, evaporator will need to be flush out, repair puncture, change filter drier, it's better to replace compressor, vacuum system for about 2hrs. then recharge. it's better to use welding/ soldering, to repair punctured line, epoxy repair kit can be used to repair punctured (evaporator) lines . you will have to call a mechanic, if very little water entered punctured( evaporator) lines, then flushing of evaporator, (internal cleaning of lines (tube) changing of filter drier, with overnight vacuuming will do the job. take note, job like this, cannot be guaranteed. check cost for repairs, sometimes it's better to purchase a new one, and save yourself some headaches.next time never use sharp instruments in your freezer, it happened to me sometimes, it's what you get your hands on, what's available at the moment, good luck.

The evaporator drains into pan with a coil from the discharge line. The design is intented to sub-cool the liquid refrigertant as well as evaporate the condensation from the coil. Unfortunately the engineer started as career a shipping clerk and never received any further training.  There isn't enough heat or running time to evaporate the condensation from the coil.
The solution is fairly simple
A plastic tube  drains water out of the evaporator in the pan. You can extend the tube and add a defrost pan handled by your refrigeration wholesaler. Wire it so it is on whenever there is power to the unit.  This should get rid of the excess water. These pans are also used on some self contained coolers and freezers. They come in either 120 volts or 220 volts. kasgirls@tds.net

probe needs to be between the cpu and cooler and the feeder power needs to be checked for proper AMPS and volts. lala linda
