I used this memory stick on my old PC at home and it was wrking okay. When i put it into the usb port it showed up ad removable E. Now I have upgraded my pc to a laptop it doesent recognise the stick....

I assume when you say "memory stick" that you mean a USB memory stick rather than a Sony memory stick.

You should try it in another USB port (if ther is one on your laptop). If that doesn't work, then try it in another PC - if it doesn't work in another PC either, then it is likely that the memory device is at fault, otherwise. If it works fine on another PC, then it is likely that it is the USB port on your new laptop that is at fault in some manner.

If you have another USB device you can use (anything will do - a mouse, webcam, etc), try it in the port you tried the memory stick in. If nothing happens, then in all likeleyhood, the USB port is at fault. If the other device works, then it is probably the USB memory device that is faulty.

If the device works in another PC, try reformatting it as FAT file system on that PC, and see if you can then see it in your new laptop.

Sir/ma'am i have got a new laptop , but i don't have many drives....i mean i have only C- drive and i have to save everything in my desktop..... hope you solve my problem....... ty poojitha

getting a memory stick you plug into one of the USB ports might be an option--Make sure you buy one that is compatable with your filesystem/operating system.
There are two main commercial types of Usb port 1.1 and 2.0
most memory sticks these days cover both types
your pc'should recognise the Usb stick as a different drive E or F for example from there save and wait for save process to stick

My Pc/Laptop (vista) is nolonger recognising my Sony memory stick duo adaptor; I have used it in the past 2 years but for some reason I cant get any of my photos or movies off it!?!?! ahhhhh.... please...

have you tried it on other computer, if not yet try it if it work there, then theres a problem with the port or card reader that you use, if it did not work there then your memory stick has reach it service life

Psp

* Make sure you have inserted a memory stick, and enable the usb connection via settings=>usb connection

* Check the usb cable, or simply find another one to try if it works.

* If there is a memory stick inside the psp and the psp can recognize it, then you most probably have a problem with your cable or usb port.

* if there is a memory stick inside the psp and the psp cannot recognize it, as well as the computer, then you are most likely to have a failure with your memory card.

There are too many possibilities, maybe you can give me details straightaway, so more people can help you.
