Question about Franklin Industries FR6100 Slow Cooker

2 Answers

I'm currently in South America and used my FR6100 connected to a transformer and after two hours of use it stopped working. I'm being told the capacitor burnt out. Where can I get such a part in the US? Hector

The product I'm looking parts for is not a slow cooker: it's an countertop oven: Franklin Chef Vertisserie Plus Model #FR6100.
    Thanks!

Hi Richard:
Your question is not exactly a "FIXYA" kind of thing but I do enjoy trying to find the facts when presented by a statement such as you are asking about.
Here is a link to the "SNOPES" site that provides factual information.

What is the temperature setting "warm" mean on a crock pot? My sister accidentally left her meat on "warm" rather than "low" and needs to know if it is safe to eat. I told...

Warm will keep food warm safely for a few hours after it has finished cooking. If this happened after a regular cooking time it is OK

Hi - I have a Rival Smart-Pot slow cooker and set it all up to cook a stew just this morning. I set it on low for 8 hours. I have just arrived home (earlier then expected) 5 hours later to find the lights...

It could be you lost ac power from the power company during the day (if only for a few seconds).
Did you notice anything else in your house that was affected (VCR, alarm clock, etc.)?

Need directions for presidents choice slow cooker

Heat intensity is warm, 1, 2, 3 (highest)
How to operate: Plug in. Set timer to amount of hours to cook. Press the SELECT button to scroll thru 4 settings - "warm", "1" (Low), "2" (Medium)", "3" (High). Once the desired cooking temp selected, press the "round circle" power button to begin cooking. The time display will now start to count down to "0:00" When the cooking time has been reached, the slow cooker will automatically go into "warm" mode for a maximum of 6 hours, then automatically turn off. NOTE: Not recommended using the WARM setting for more than 4 hours at a time. NOTE2: To stop the cooking process at any time, press the "round circle" power button. The unit will default to "0:00" time but the indicator light in the "3" high position will remain on.

Replacement part

At Crockpots.com I located a phone number 800 323 9519. I was told they are currently out of stock but it is an item they carry. Their response "no replacement parts available" means out of stock. They suggested calling back in 2-3 weeks.

It wont heat up and all the lights just keep blinking

I have the same problem EVERY time I want to use the crock pot. My solution has be patience. I find that if I turn it on, and the light blinks, but when i click it it will blink on 4 hours, then go back to the blinking light. By keeping the crock pot plugged in and off for about 10-15 minutes I was then able to set the crockpot up for cooking. As if the capacitors inside the unit needed power stored in them from the wall.
