Question about Electrolux Central Vacuum

ELECTROLUX MODEL XXX

I'M REASSEMBLING THE MOTOR AND HAVE A FEW PIECES LEFT OVER.
TWO L SHAPED BRACKETS WITH A SCREW HOLE. MY NOTES SAY "RECESSED TO HOLD TURBINE". MEANING THE SHAFT WITH THE ARMATURE, WINDINGS ETC. THAT GOES INTO THE PART WITH THE WIRES.
THERE ARE TWO SLITS ON THIS PART NEXT TO THE (3)BRACKETS THAT HOLD THE RING (RUBBER HAS DISINTEGRATED...ANY IDEAS?) THAT HOLDS THE RUBBER GASKET THAT CONTROLS THE AIR FLOW THROUGH THE BAG.
THERE ARE ALREADY THREE SCREWS THAT SECURE THE TWO PIECES TOGETHER,SO IT SEEMS THE L SHAPED BRACKETS ARE UNNECESSARY.
THERE'S ALSO A PIECE ABOUT AN INCH LONG ROUNDED ON EACH END WITH SCREW HOLES AND SLIGHTLY BENT. JUDGING FROM THE PICTURES I TOOK THIS PIECE SCREWS ON TOP OF THE LUBE POT COVER. CORNERS UP OR DOWN?
THANKS.

SOURCE: My EL7020 so call Electrolux!

Check the electrical connections between the hose and the body of the machine, and also the wand connections all the way to the power head. Sometimes a faulty connection can send a false "off" signal back to the main body of the machine, and turn it off; but usually it will restart if that's the case. It sounds like you have a clog somewhere which is tripping your motor's thermal cutout, but you did say there are no clogs... so if you have full suction all the way down to the powerhead that's not the issue. You could have a faulty thermal switch, but I think the likely cause is, as usual; the sumo board.

Good luck. Sorry I didn't have a more concise answer for you.

SOURCE: Electrolux EL5020A VacuumCleaner - taking apart

There are more star screws than you think. Under the cover over both wheels there are two on one side and one at the rear of the other. Getting the covers over the wheels off is a task. They are only snapped in but getting them out is a fluster. Also under the brush assembly are several screws. This thing is secured better than a tank. Good luck..Took me an hour to figure out where all the screws were located...

New bag indicator will not reset causing bare floor mode not to work at all and mode 2 not to vacuum dirt properly

Your top motor (suction motor) isn't running. Your vacuum has two motors in it. The top motor is the suction motor that runs on the first switch position and the bottom motor (brush motor) turns on with the second possition.
It could be the switch. If it isn't the switch, the only other thing it could be is the motor itself.
To check the switch, unplug the vacuum and then take the three screws out of the back of the handle. If you are comfortable with electricity, jump the black wire and the blue wire togeather and plug the vacuum into a electrical outlet. If the motor dosen't run, the problem is with the motor. If the motor runs, the switch is bad and needs to be replaced. You can get one at most any vacuum shop.
The motor could be bad or the carbon brushes can be stuck with dust. This is more involved and I recomend taking the vacuum to a vac shop that works on the "old" Electrolux vacuums. The new name for the "old" Electrolux is now Aerus Lux but you would probably get it repaired less expensively at another vacuum shop.
If you want to go into the motor housing you'll have to take the big screw out of the back of the handle and pull up on the handle to remove it. Next, remove the four screws holding the top half (motor housing) of the vacuum. Two screws on the back and two screws to the front inside of the bag housing. You'll need a long #2 phillips screw driver. Then pull up on the bag housing with a side to side motion.
With the housing removed, you will see the motor and can lift it out.
Check for any bad winding. You can smell them to check if you can't tell by looking at them. If they are burned, you will need to replace the motor.
To check the brushes, you will need a 5/16th" socket to remove the two bolts on the top of the motor and lift the top bracket with the carbon brushes off and see if the brushes move freely. If not moving or not long enough to touch the top part of the motor with the copper bars (the comutator) it would be best to replace the motor.
To reassemble the vac just reverse.
This is a long and difficult prosedure and I reccomend that you take the vacuum to a repair shop that works on the Electrolux.

What exactly is the name of the tool to remove the one screw on the handle of the Electrolux Renaissance C134A vacuum?

It's not a particular tool, it's simply a type of screwdriver bit. They are called either "Torx" or T-Star and come in a range of sizes, e.g. T15, T20, T25, T30, etc.

I think the one on your vacuum is a T20, but it's hard to remember the size of every screw on every appliance. I've attached a picture below to assist you. If this isn't the right tool, please describe the shape of the recess in the head of the screw and I will post back with the correct answer.

How replace lightbulb on carpet beater (Electrolux central vac). Can't find any screws near light

To replace the bulb you will have to remove the power nozzle cover. Remove the cover by extracting the screws from the bottom. Take notice of which screw comes from which hole. Depending on the year, one screw may be shorter than the others. If put back in the wrong place, the screw will come through the cover when replaced. Once the cover is removed it's easy to replace the bulb. Make sure everything is lined up when reassembling.

Electrolux z4494 vacuum cleaner mains cable wont stay out

Opened up case as follows:
- Open lid of bag chamber. Remove lid by gentry prising the hinge arms slightly further apart so the hing unclips from the body.
2 deeply recessed screws now accessible at rear edge of bag chamber - undo.
Prise out large button of on/off switch to reveal another screw - undo
Prise out large button of cable retract to reveal another screw - undo.
Cover now lifts off.

Inside I found the brake wheel had fallen out of its plastic bracket. The plastic bracket is hinged, and moved my pressing one end with the big button, which lifts the wheel away from the cable drum. Gently prised the bracket arms apart and put the brake wheel back in.
Solved it - but don't know why it happened, or whether it is likely to happen again.

How do i open canister for cord retract repair

There are four screws under the lid, and there are two additional screws under the face plate for the controls display. You'll need a thin, flat blade screw driver to "pop" the face plate off. The two additional screws that you are looking for are deeply recessed about the bracket-nozzle park.

Need the wiring diagram for this vacuum electrolux

Open the door to remove the bag. Pull the side bumpers forward when the door is open. The profile of the edge of the top and the bottom of the vacum body is a "L" shape. The cross section of the bumper is a "I" and that holds the body together. Carefully lift up the top just a little to free the plastic end cap that conceals the cord spool. There are two plastic pins on the top and bottom that hold this piece on and they frequently get broken. (If that happens repair shops drill and hole and insert a screw.)There is a plastic protector plate that lifts up on either end and then is slid about 1/8th inch clockwise and then up.
Copy the wiring pattern on the four male connectors on the motor and the wire spool.

Hoover Model S3281, disassembly instructions

GET TO THE REEL AS FOLLOWS:

(BEFORE YOU START, BE SURE TO UNPLUG THE DIMENSION FROM THE OUTLET)

1). TURN VACUUM OVER AND USE A FLAT-BLADE SCREWDRIVER TO WEDGE/SLIDE THE WHEELS OFF (PUT THE SCREWDRIVER BLADE BETWEEN THE LITTLE BLACK WHEEL BRACKET PIECE AND THE GREY CHASSIS OF THE VACUUM AND SLIDE/WIGGLE THE WHEELS OFF);

2). THE 2 DEEP HOLES AT THE TOP OF EACH WHEEL RECESS LEAD TO 1-1/2" LONG PHILLIPS SCREWS >> UNSCREW THEM;

3). AFTER REMOVING ALL 4 SCREWS, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO EASILY LIFT OFF THE TOP OF THE REEL/MOTOR COMPARTMENT.

4). CAREFULLY LIFT AND ROTATE THE CONTROL PANEL TO THE SIDE.

5). THE REEL IS NOW IN PLAIN SIGHT.

6). I’M STILL TRYING TO FIGURE-OUT HOW TO SAFELY ACCESS THE GUTS OF THE REEL MYSELF. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH INTERMITTENT VACUUM POWER AND ALSO WITH WEAK CORD RETRACTION.

ANYWAY, GOOD LUCK TO YOU !!!
