I am returning Epson printer to company for breakdown issue and they will send me a "refurbished" replacement. How do I delete any history of fax/copy/print jobs that maybe stored in printer's hard drive before I send my unit back to Epson??

Thank you.. I mean printer's internal memory where all faxes, copies, and scans may be stored in the printer's memory.

You can delete them from the printer's menu. But your Artisan 800 printer doesn't have any special internal memory, only external ones, that you must plug in it and didn't came with it. To clean the internal buffer memory all you have to do is to reset the printer - shut it down, wait 5 minutes and power it back up.
Once you have done that you can send it without any fear, all the data that was stored in it is lost.

Did not understand what you meant by hard disk. If you mean memory card then you can simply remove the card. If its something else like erasing the printer's internal memory then let me know.

  • pleasefocus Aug 05, 2010

Sorry I rply in coments above..I mean internal memory of printer which may store all faxes, scans, copies,or print jobs that have been done since purchase of machine one year ago.

Press home-> Setup-> Reset Fax data settings confirm. This will erase your recent fax data and speed dial numbers. To remove the contacts open the contact list then scroll down to delete all and press ok. Press Ok again to confirm.

Belt that moves the printer head broke. Where to get a new one and instructions on installing it.

Well theirs two solutions you can contact Epson to order one of those belts or you can order one of those through our company ? Which do you prefer to do. Since this is an inkjet your better off trying to fix this yourself first before calling a service company to repair these

I had the same problem when trying to print to my All in One Epson this morning. I resolved it by going to the Print & Fax in System Preferences, deleting the printer (-) and re-adding (+). This worked for me.

Rebuild Epson R1800?

You could run head cleaning from the driver a few times and see if the nozzles start to clear out. If you send it in for repair they run a solution through it that is supposed to clean it out. If the solution doesn't work the head is like a $400 part.

New cartridge inserted but printer says I still need a new one

Hi. When I fitted the second set of cartridges to my Epson Stylus Photo 1400, the printer failed to recognize any of them, even though they were genuine Epson! I repeatedly installed and un-installed them without success. After giving it a bit of thought, I had a hunch that the contacts on the cartridges might not be making good contact with the contacts on the printer as the cartridges seemed a little loose. I removed each cartridge in turn and after putting some adhesive tape on the opposite end to the contacts, (there are grooves cut into this end, but the tape drops nicely into them when you install the cart) replaced them all. (This had the effect of pushing the cartridges harder against the contacts). Switched on again and all carts worked fine. So it seems that even Epson can't make the cartridges to fit their own printer properly! Having said that it's a great printer otherwise. I hope this is helpful to you.

Epson Stylus cx5000 - no power

If you have already tried different, USB cable, different power cable, different USB port you may even go as far as trying it on a different computer and if for any unfortunate circumstance you're still experiencing the same thing chance are its already a broken fuse or broken board on printer. Unfortunately this is a non-user replaceable part. I suggest that you contact Epson support if you printer is still under warranty from the date of purchase they may send you a replacement (brand new or refurbished) otherwise they'll be referring you to a service center in you area.

Paper would not feed

Go to Epson.com clearance center and purchase a refurbished Epson R280 for $70 (free shipping). That's less than what you would pay to replace your cartridges. I've bought several refurbished priners from Epson and they come w/warranty, like-new condition. I haven't had to return one yet! These printers are not designed for do-it-yourself repair.
