I have a Canon Pixma MX330 color printer. It gets used only occasionally, usually to print brochures and the like. I recently switched it to copy mode by pressing the "copy" button on the front; now it won't print from my computer. It will print a test page, but it then returns to copy mode, telling me that the document status is "in queue" because "printer is offline." *sigh* I've turned it off and on, double-checked my connection, etc. Help? Can I set it to print as a default setting somehow?

When you double click the Printer and Faxes icon in the Control Panel you will see the printer that your computer is currently using. See.... if the printer image is clear it is online and ready to use, if its blurred then its in offline mode and cannot be use.

To correct offline printer.. some possible reasons is on the usb cable.. check if there is no open wire along the cable...Inserting the USB connector on the other usb slot of the cpu sometimes work just wait first until it is read.

If the printer is still blurred and offline after checking the usb connection, the 2nd thing to do is check the properties of the printer if it is set to offline mode. how? Double click your printer icon. It will display the print jobs window. Click on the Printer tab and uncheck on the "Use printer Offline". Cancel all pending print jobs, close the printer window and try again to print.

The problem I'm having is that whenever I try to make a print in color, the image or text comes out with lines running through it of very offset colors. I'm using a MX330 and thought the problem...

This is an ink jet printer. The lines are likely caused by one or some of the microscopic ink nozzles being clogged. How long has it been since the ink cartridges were replaced? If they are old, some of the ink has dried up in the nozzles, clogging them. Some printers have a clean print head function. If this one does, use it. If not, try replacing the print cartridges. If this printer has a separate print head and print cartridges, just replace the print head(s).

Cant get my canon mx330 printer to work

Multifunction devices usually require two separate inks to acquire functionalities. For example, an empty ink cartridge especially the color ink may still produce copies without multi ink features. However, any attempts to dismaunt the ink cartridges would require restorations from the computer settings. First, inspect the printer for empty accessories that require replacements. After acquiring and replacing ink cartridges makes way for the next processes. Second, connecting the printer that has been restablished would produce display results requesting printer copy allignments. Attempt to print a document to produce the results for alligments. Goodluck

Pixma mx330 printing very faded colors

try selecting higher print quality setting. If it still prints faded on "standard" or "high" quality, try running the "printhead clean" or "deep clean" utility (under "maintenance" in printer properties).
If still no good, refill or replace cartridge(s).

good luck with it

My canon pixma mx330 color cartridge is half full but it give an error of U163 replace color cartridge. How can I fax without color cartridge.

Please try this solution first, it might resolve your faxing transaction by resolving first the u163 error.

What happened when ink ran out from a refilled cartridge and the printer detected it?

The printer will display an error U162 or U163. All functions of the all-in-one printer will stop and your printer will not work. The next thing you will know is you are in the front of a computer shop and buy a genuine canon cartridge.
But wait, there is still a way to fix this. Reset it again using a different procedure. Reset the detections of reusable cartridge.
1. Turn off your printer an turn it on again
2. After the printer initialize try to copy or print. The error will appear.
3. When the error is displayed on the display panel of the printer, Press and Hold the STOP/RESET button and wait until it self restart.
4. Release the STOP/RESET button the the printer is restarting.
5. Wait for a few seconds and the pending print jobs will commence.

Canon PIXMA MX330 multifunction printer. I get a lot of faxes. Is there a way to save ink & paper by having all faxes come in without printing them & just putting them to memory & review them...

unfortunatly not!The m/c will print each and every fax!I can suggest getting a fax to email nr and recieve the faxes on your pc and then printing what u need!Memory does keep about 258 pages depending on the coverage on the pages!

My canon mx330 printer ask me this questions when i hit the "print button" it pops up a window that asks"output file name"? I'm suppose to type something inthere?

Check that the printer shown in the print window is the MX330. It sounds like your default printer is set to be a virtual printer such as Microsoft XPS or Acrobat PDF. You need to set the MX330 as your default printer by going to your Printers and Faxes window, right-click on the MX330 printer and select "set as default" on the list there.
