Accessing Image Zone software

I called earlier, but was not able to stay on line long enough to complete the session. I had been trying to use my Image Zone software (part of the package I installed along with HP Photosmart Printer 8250) but could not open it because I kept getting a Windows Installer error message telling me that I needed to use a disk. The technician I was talking to suggested uninstalling one of the HP programs (I forget which) from my Control Panel, but I didn't complete the operation. I now need to know which of the programs I should uninstall, and exactly what procedure to follow afterwards. The programs are: Extended Capabilities 5.3... Image zone 5.3 ... Imaging Device Functions ... Photosmart 330series etc ... Solution Center and Imaging Support Tools 5.3 ... Update ... HPSU306Stub ... I assume they are all programs which originated from the disk, since I have no other HP devices installed.

Went to the HP site, downloaded the printer program, removed the old program and installed the new one..

An Unexpected Internal Error Has Occurred' Error Message Displays
Issue When attempting to scan, or, during the scanning process, the error message An unexpected internal error has occurred may display on the computer screen. There are three scenarios where this issue occurs. This document covers each scenario where this error may occur and provides links to the appropriate documentation for resolving each scenario. Solution one If you have multiple versions of HP Image Zone software installed on your computer, click here to download a patch that might resolve this issue . If you do not know if you have multiple versions of HP Image Zone installed, follow the instructions below.
  1. Click Start , point to Settings , and then click Control Panel .
  2. Click Add/Remove Programs .
  3. In the list of programs that displays, look for the following entries:
    • HP Image Zone
    • HP Photo and Imaging Gallery
  4. If there is more than one entry listed, then there are multiple versions of HP Image Zone software installed on the computer.
  5. Click here to download the patch. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the patch.
  6. If the issue persists, try the next solution.
Solution two Clicking Scan picture or image in the HP Director software results in an unexpected internal error or causes the computer system to stop responding. Solution three When accepting a scan from the HP Scanning preview window, the scanner may start to scan and then lock up with the lamp approximately ½ way down the scanner bed. This results in an unexpected internal error or causes the computer system to stop responding. Click here to resolve this issue (c00373192). Solution four When accepting a scan, the scanner completes the final scan and the lamp returns to the home position; however, when the image is being processed or sent to the receiving application (that is, HP Photo and Imaging Gallery), an unexpected internal error occurs. Solution five Immediately after clicking Scan Picture from the HP Director when using an HP Scanjet 3970 with v2.2 software, an unexpected internal error occurs.

How do you scan an item to the computer


Use the scan features
Scanning is the process of converting text and pictures into an electronic format for
your computer. You can scan just about anything: photos, magazine articles, text
documents, and even 3D objects, as long as you are careful not to scratch the glass
on your HP All-in-One.
You can use the scanning features of your HP All-in-One to do the following:
● Scan text from an article into your word processor and quote it in a report.
● Print business cards and brochures by scanning a logo and using it in your
publishing software.
● Send photos to friends and relatives by scanning your favorite prints and
including them in e-mail messages.
● Create a photographic inventory of your house or office, or archive treasured
photos in an electronic scrapbook.
To use the scan features, your HP All-in-One and computer must be connected and
turned on. The HP All-in-One software must also be installed and running on your
computer prior to scanning. To verify that the HP All-in-One software is running on a
Windows computer, look for the HP Digital Imaging Monitor in the system tray at the
lower right side of the screen, near the time. On a Mac, the HP All-in-One software is
always running.
Note Closing the HP Windows system tray icon can cause your HP All-in-
One to lose some of its scan functionality and result in the No Connection
error message. If this happens, you can restore full functionality by restarting
your computer or by starting the HP Image Zone software.
For information on how to scan from the computer, and how to adjust, resize, rotate,
crop, and sharpen your scans, see the onscreen HP Image Zone Help that came with
your software.
This chapter contains information on: sending a scan to and from different
destinations, and adjusting the preview image.
Scan to an application
You can scan originals placed on the glass directly from the control panel.
1. Load the original face down on the right front corner of the glass.
2. Press Start Scan on the control panel.
A preview image of the scan appears in the HP Document Viewer window on
the computer, where you can edit it.
For more information on editing a preview image, see the onscreen HP Image
Zone Help
that came with your software.
3. Make any edits to the preview image in the HP Scan window. When you have
finished, click Accept.
The HP All-in-One sends the scan to the HP Image Zone software, which
automatically opens and displays the image.

Scan
The HP Image Zone has many tools that you can use to edit your scanned image.
You can improve the overall image quality by adjusting the brightness, sharpness,
color tone, or saturation. You can also crop, straighten, rotate, or resize the image.
When the scanned image looks just the way you want it, you can open it in another
application, send it through e-mail, save it to a file, or print it. For more

Our HP Officejet 5600 won't receive faxes.

Here is the answer to your question.

Error code 244 can mean any of the following things: :

1. You or the person sending the fax pressed the STOP key , causing the session to stop before completion.

2. The fax machine on the other end determined that there is an incompatibility with your machine and the one you are sending to and stopped the fax session.

To fix this you can try the following things. Try them one at a time, and if they don't work, place them back the way they where before you changed it.
  • Make sure the fax machine you are sending to can accept and use polling.
  • Select a slower "receive" speed.
  • Enable or disable the ECM setting.
Error Code: 232

1. Can mean that a communication failure has happened between the two machines.

2. It may also mean that the user of the FAX machine you are sending to has pressed the STOP key

3. If call waiting is enabled, it may cause this error. Disable call waiting on your phone line, if you have a fax machine connected to it. The click or beep on the line that indicates you have a incoming call, can STOP a fax session.

4. Another cause of this error code is that the power was interrupted to the machine you are attempting to send a fax to.

Things you can do to solve this problem: Try them one at a time, and if they don't work, place them back the way they where before you changed it.

  • Try disableing ECM. However, this may reduce the quality of your faxes.
  • Ask the person you are sending the fax to to set the machine to receive at a slower speed.
  • Try the fax again at a different time, incase it is a problem with the phone line.
  • If you phone lines are old, or there is static on the line it may cause trouble sending a fax.If this is the case you will need to contact your local phone company or whoever is responsible for servicing your phone lines.

The scan software is called HP Image Zone and can be downloaded from HP's website or installed from your CD

HP PSC 1315


The user was trying to scan using HP Image Zone. It is for photos only to edit etc. Placed shortcut on desktop of Windows scanner application so he could use that.

Erro occurred


If you can't open the toolbox there is a software issue. A complete uninstall and reinstall might be the solution. (Disconnect USB cable if connected with usb cable), Perform an uninstall from the software, when ready, open add/remove programs in the control panel, uninstall image zone, extended capabillitys, and HP update, restart pc search the CD for scrubber.exe and doubble click on the file. Reinstall the full software.

this worked for me .... open msconfig hit startup tab and scroll to HP Image Zone fast start, and disable , apply close and restart computer

MSI Error - HP Image Zone


Hi ChaBair, Image zone is HPs attempt to get its customers to store, share and backup images on their servers: http://www.hp.ca/portal/hho/ize/ I would try reinstalling the installation CD again making sure the printer is off until it prompts you. This time when you get to the part where you can select what components to install document the program names just in case you do have to manually uninstall later. Anyway reinstall and when prompted connect your printer. Also before you actually try to use the printer make sure you go to the HP site and download/apply any patches there may be. This should fix your error problem and give you a good idea which of the ancillary programs to uninstall if you later desire to do that. This didn?t 100% answer your question but I believe it will in the end achieve what you?re looking for. If it doesn?t work let us know and we?ll go from there.
