We have a maytag neptune super stack sl-2. The dryer just recently started making this very loud squeaking noise and remains that way throughout most of the cycle. It does however lighten up somewhat as the load continues. Could it be a belt?

MLG2000A - Maytag Neptune Super Stack SL-3
1 - Select Wash/Rinse Water Temperature
2 - Select Options (Max Extract, Extra Rinse, Signa)
3 - Select Cycle
4 - Load the Clothes Washer (add detergent on top of the load in the tub, and additives [fabric softener, bleach] in their dispensers).
5 - Start the washer.
This is according to the owner's manual I have. Has worked for 14 years for me.
