I found a free operation manual for your sewing machine on this website, called diplodocs.com
It's a pdf file-I downloaded the pdf file & looked at it & was inpressed with it,,,it shows the threading of the machine & other things you might find helpful
when you get to the website,,
go down to the middle of the page
there's a large rectangle box outlined in orange-called- most common searches
there are a bunch of sewing machine numbers,, look for your sewing machine number it is there,, & click on it & it will take you to a page you will have to answer 3 questions about your sewing machine & then you can download the pdf file manual-
I had no trouble getting it downloaded
hope this helps you

  • when you go to diplodocs.com

you will come to the first page & there are on the left side alphebet letters, choose S-& find the singer name-click on singer it will take you to the second page where the info I told you about in the above answer is & follow the above info to get the free manual

Singer 1022 Sewing Machine. The thread keeps breaking on it.

Question edited for clarity.

I was built before cell phones or desktop computers! Older sewing machines are more reliable that the new fancy electronic ones.

Broken thread is usually caused by old rotten thread, cotton breaks down, or you may have a bad batch. Or it is caused by incorrect threading, or incorrect tension (upper or even bobbin tension). Or the machine needs cleaning, servicing and timing.

Manual to check threading and tension.

How do you thread a singer serger 14U46?

Most Singer manuals are available here: https://www.singer.com/support . Searching just for 14 gave two pages of manuals with the manual for the 14U46B and 14U46 on the second page. The current link to the manual is https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/SINGER_14U46B_and_14U46_Serger_Overlock.pdf . The threading depends on your type of stitch. See page 9 for the steps common to all threading (raise the presser foot, change the thread tension). See page 11 (page 13 of the PDF) for the left looper path. The right and left needle threading is shown on page 12. If you are using a four-thread stitch, see page 15 for the right looper thread path.

I hope this helps. Check YouTube for videos on preparing a Singer serger. Those are often more useful than the manual's pictures.

I would like to find a singer stylist zigzag 413 manual -The machine I bought is not bringing up the bobbin thread

Singer has many of their manuals here: https://www.singer.com/support . The current link to the manual for the Stylist 413 is https://www.singer.com/sites/default/files/product_manual/SINGER%20413%20Stylist%20Sewing%20Machine.pdf .

Usually if the bobbin thread doesn't come up, check that the bobbin is inserted so that the thread comes off the bobbin counter-clockwise. Check that the thread is correctly is under the tension spring. Check the needle for damage. After that, you need to check the bobbin case and rotating hook to make sure there is no damage or timing problems.

I hope this helps.

I got treadle sewing machine, with no manufacturer name on it anywhere. It has a serial number, 2239420. Can anyone tell me how to thread it? I have pictures.

On older Singer machines, the serial number is all you will find. If you look it up in the database, it will tell you what model it is. The good thing is, the old Singer machines didn't change much so the threading sequence should be similar from model to model. It's probably going to be difficult, or impossible, to find a manual, but the machines are so basic that most older Singer manual would be helpful. Just be sure to oil the moving metal parts often with good quality sewing machine oil.

Hiya. I have a very old singer, with the number F2590752. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to find a manual please? Many thanks.

It's not likely you are going to find a manual for a vintage Singer. However, the older Singers didn't change a lot from one model to the next, so you should be able to find information on multiple web sites and videos that would be helpful.

Upper thread breaking on singer machine

Check that your bobbin thread is not wound too tightly or too loose. Also adjust your tension down a click at a time until it stops breaking, testing on scrap fabric. Singer provided manuals online. Look it up here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html
