Question about Craftsman 20 hp 42 in. Deck Lawn Tractor - CA Model

1 Answer

On the clutch and brake peddle the clutch engadges at the very end of the peddle. The brake is working fine but as you let the peddle out on the last 1/16 of an inch the drive engades. this makes it where you can't get close to anything. I put a new belt on it and it is still out of ajustment.

If you replaced the belt then you know there is a tensioner/guide pulley and another pulley which goes in and out with the clutch pedal movement to take slack out of the belt. I would closely examine both of those as well as the linkage and return spring on the clutch pedal.

Blades wont engadge belts on

This would be either the clutch relay, pto switch or pto clutch, check the relay first, then the pto switch, and lastly, check the clutch, if the clutch tries to engage with switch, then the switch and relay are good, and the clutch will need adjusted or replaced

Niose when clutch is engadged

That would be the clutch release bearing (also called the throwout bearing).
The bearing is a sealed unit that eventually wears out and needs replacing.
Unfortunately, the only fix is to pull the transmission and replace the bearing.
And while you're at it, you might as well put in a new clutch and pressure plate while it's apart. Or not, depending on your budget. The release bearing runs in the neighborhood of around $40. If you can stand the noise, the bearing may last for quite a while, but eventually it may sieze and leave you stranded.
Good luck.

1991 GMC Sonoma manual transmission won't shift into gears, won't move, is it the clutch?

Usally when the clutch is bad, you still can shift gears. Check the slave cylinder or air in the fluid line. Good luck

The clutch peddle will not come up it stays on the floor

Check on the upper part of the pedel to see if the clip that connects the pedel to the clutch master cylinder has poped off If the clutch pedel is on the floor this is a likely sulition and relitively easy repair you just reattach the clip
