Question about Fujitsu 24C1 Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Hi, I just bought a house that has a a/c Fujitsu ASU12CQ. It seems to be working fine (cold air coming out) except that once in a while, it makes a big growling noise that last like 2 or 3 seconds and it stops. It feels like something vibrating inside. Sometimes it will do it every 5 minutes so it gets annoying. It also does it when we shut it off maybe 5 times in the next 20 minutes it's been off. Any idea what this could be? I've read the manual and couldn't find anything about this. No lights are blinking, but could this have to do with the filter needing to be clean or replace? Thanks for your help!

Hi,
That noise is just the refrigerant moving inside the unit...
It is nothing to be concerned about and is perfectly normal...
Can be a bit annoying... but you will get used to it..

    Wow ultra-fast response, thanks.

The manual said that the refrigerant moving inside could make a slight noise.. I'd say "slight" is an understatement; we hear it through the whole house and it wakes us up at night. I hope we do get used to it.

I guess I'm just confused cuz I know a few people with a/c at their house and none of them do that sort of loud noise.

    Thanks again!

Low coolant, if there is an air pocket in the engine it will make it to the heater core. Once there , the air coming out is cold/cool. Once the coolant fills the heater core, it gets hot. If the coolant is fine hot or cold, then have the HVAC system scanned.

My condensor fan and compressor on my Carrier AC (Model# 38ckc036350) stopped working, so I replaced my capacitor and they both work fine now. The problem is my house won't cool down. There is c

Often after a repair has been made, the air conditioner will take hours to readjust back to normal. When the system has been off for to long, not only does the heat in the house rise, but so does the humidity, which has to be pulled out of the air first before it really starts dropping in temp. You could have a low charge on refrigerant, dirty filters, etc. More than once I have ran into things that were just coincidence after a repair that showed up. Since you just replaced the capacitor, I would make sure the fan motor is turning in the right direction and there is nice air flow coming out of the condenser, some times if one wire is wrong, it can cause it to spin backwards, which will work, but just barely. The air needs to be pulled through the coils, not pushed. Hope this helps!

2003 jeep grand cherokee heater problem

Jeep Grand Cherokee is notorious for broken blend-air doors. This is the door inside the A/C-heater housing that switches the air from hot to cold. You must remove the dash to repair it.

Hi I have a problem with my Fujitsu wall mounted air conditioner ,model AST24RGB-W the outdoor unit fan is running but there is no cold air coming out from the inside unit I put it on high cool to get cold...

I think, your compressor is not working. Check with amphs meter. If less amphs gas leak. Arrest the leak and re charge gas. If tripping with high amphs change capacitor. Still high amps, compressor is defective.

Cold air

The compressor is not working. Only the fan. No you can't put water on it to make it blow cold air. The compressor is what makes it blow cold air. If you are interested in trying to troubleshoot it let me know. It is not that easy but if you are patient and a little mechanically inclined you may be able to do it.
