How to delete corrupted files on my memory card of ps2

  • Anonymous Aug 12, 2008

As I was playing "Mortal Kombat: Deception" on my Playstation 2 and data was about to be saved to my Memory Card, the Memory Card was said to be not inserted correctly. Although it hadnĀ“t been taken out of the console during the saving, all the data of this game was deleted. Now I need to know if there is a way to rescue that data, because I spent so much time playing the game to that point. Please, help me! This is a horrible situation for me!

yea I have a problem with my memory card also....I save a 64MB memory card and I checked that I had enough free space in my memory card, All my other games save fine, but the only game I cannot save is Kingdom Hearts II. Whenever I try to save the game it says that there is insufficient space available in my memory card, could it be that my memory card is messed up? Because I can play and save all my other games except for Kingdom Hearts II.

It could be a glitch in the memory card, because a similar problem happen with my gamecube memory card and when i save data on it, it won't keep the data so i don't use it anymore. so a solution could be to buy 2 new memory cards and save the same data on both so if one has the same problem, you have backup data. if that solution does not work it could be the games or the console.

My Playstation 2 memory card has corrupted data.

well, if it only does this error for one game then maybe the problem is in the game itself? Is the CD a real one? or is it copied with a golden back?
if it is copied then such things can definitely happen.

Memory Card Corrupted

you cannot save another file until you delete previous one.Corruption occurs if the memory card is removed from console or if you reset the game while saving or loading game remember this also happens when you are saving or loading game and electricity turns off.

Ps2 memory card

My memory card has been doing that too. It's either your memory card has gone bad or your ps2 memory card slots is fucked up

Memory Card saying "Disk Not Formatted"

This is only a chance in getting it to work. Get some alcohol and use a butter knife and papertowel to clean the contacts on the memory card. Also get some Air in a Can from Radio shack, and blow out the Memory card slot on the console. You miight even try to check it out on another PS2.

PSP2 slimline

Maybe your memory card has been carrupted, recommend you to get a new brand new one, as it will most likely be needed to be formated but that's highly impossible to do unless you speak to the manufacture of the console that deals with it. If you have data stored on the memory card you should be contacting the the menufacture and say if it is possible to retrieve your data stored on you memory card (PS2).

Hope that helps :)

Corrupted save files

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to retrieve your corrupted data. This happened to my entire memory card at one point. This usually happens if you take out the memory card or turn off the power when it's saving but memory cards can possibly fail on their own as well. Since you've had the problem for six months, simply reinserting it and trying again probably won't work (but it does in some cases). Your only hope is to reformat it and start over... sorry.

I'm not sure what you mean about the entire game being screwed up, this wouldn't have anything to do with the memory card data.
