Question about Hannspree XM-S Boston Monitor

1 Answer

I am using the monitor with a packard bell computer with windows 7., via a HDMI cable. The screen size is currently wider than the monitor so part of the screen is not visible. I have tried to reduce the picture size with the the controls on the monitor and also through windows but to no avail. When I first set the monitor up I used the normal screen cable and there was not a problem but I prefer to use the HDMI lead for clarity.

Hi,

There should be no reason why you can't set the correct display setting for the monitor via the HDMI cable.
Click on the Start Menu and type in the search box display and hit enter. A new window will pop up. From the left hand side click on Change display settings. Now, click on the Resolution tab and use the slide bar to select 1024 X 768 and click on apply.
Hopefully this will work and fit the picture on the screen. If this does not work please post back with information about what kind of computer you are using for example desktop/laptop.

Good luck.

HDMi screen doesn't turn on

First, remove your HDMI-cable from your monitor and pc, then plug it back in.

If this doesn't work, go to your desktop and press your right-mouse button at an empty space and then select resolution. Then press detect.

I hope this works.

Packard-Bell.DriverUtilities.com go to device manager and uninstall the current driver. prompt will then come up stating new hardware found and will ask you to chose a location to install from. go to P-Bell site and upload driver once in the download file you can open the driver file. I also suggest you go to Microsoft Security Essentials and run a quick scan of your computer( this will update virus definitions and remedy many latent computer issues.

Hello, I'm not sure about the system or monitor that you're using, but usually for Windows systems, you have to change the display within the system before the screen will actually show on the monitor through something other than the standard display port. If you reply with your OS, then I might be of more help, but assuming you have Windows 7, you must plug the hdmi cord in, right-click on the desktop, and select Screen Resolution. Then select the option (likely "HDMI") under Display that you are currently not using. At this point, your current screen will most likely go black. Switch you monitor to hdmi mode, and then you should be able to use your monitor via HDMI. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, or simply comment.
