Question about GE Dishwashers

Open Question

After the dishwasher finishes, I notice a green/blue liquid leaking from the bottom of the washer onto the floor. It has a consistency of oil. I have solved this in the past by tightening the screws at the bottom of the washer panel. The leaking is getting worse. Model GSD5500G03WW Serial GH88772BB

SOURCE: Dishwasher suddenly started leaking on floor?!

I have leaking from the screws holding the heating element of the same model dishwasher. The part is called heater nuts. I don't know if I need to replace the entire heating element assembly or just replace the nuts.

Any help is appreciated.

SOURCE: Water flooding onto floor when running.

The most common cause of this is a loose clamp on the pump discharge hose. It could also be a cracked hose, the hose came off (again, loose clamp). Check both ends - where the hose connects to the dishwasher AND where it connects to the sink drain.

Another possible cause is a bad pump seal, although this is less common, and usually open happens when the dishwasher is pretty old.

The problem I have with my LG dishwasher is that a green thick liquid leaks out onto the kick board. I noticed this when the door is half open, I wiped it off but it returns all the time.

Is this ooze perhaps similar to the same color as your liquid detergent or wetting agent (Jet Dri) ? A leaky dispenser would allow these fluids to leak down inside the door where they would continue down and out along the lower door edge. The only other option involves removing the outer door panel to investigate inside the door assembly. There should be no other sources of this sort of material.

Could an eroded drain cover gasket cause the dishwasher to leak from under the unit? It is not leaking onto the floor or under the sink, but it is leaking down into our basement along the concrete walls,...

I am inclined to not believe that is the issue. The gasket sits in a basin type of housing. If it was to be a failure, the water would flow into the drain hose and not outside the unit. The most common cause of leaks like this are the main gasket that seals the entire assembly to the tub.

Leaking on front driver carpet but no visual sign of leaking around door or windows. Carpet is drenched and so is cushion underneath carpet.

1. Have you been using your heater and is the smell sticky sweet? If so you're heater core might be leaking.

2. Have you been using you're A/C? If so you may have a clogged or disconnected condensation drain.

Why is my dishwasher flashing on the eco 45 button

This doe seem that the anti flood system has triggered. This device puts the machiene in pump out mode and shuts off the input water supply.
The device is a safety device that triggers once it detects a water leak (pipe / clamp) and consists of a polystireene float and micro switch at the floor of the washer. First check to see if the float has activated the micro switch and then dry the machiene floor and check for leaks.

Water leaking out of the bottom

Sounds like the main bearing has gone bad and that is causing you to loose water on the floor. There is also a rear seal back there that will need to be replaced

First of all you need to find out which CRT leaked and replace it before any other repairs are done. The clear liquid is conductive and has done damage to the CRT board or boards.
