Grounded wire? Do I need to take it to a mechanic or is it a fix I can do being mechanicaly inclined? thanks
Fuse panel is under the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel.
These are listed in order of probability:
The fuse you are looking for is F15 (10A - red) rating. 2nd row from the right Middle(3rd) fuse.(Moonroof, Driver window, Radio)
Also check the circuit breaker C1( at the top of the 2nd row from the left.) and F2(15A -blue) 1st row from the right 2nd from the bottom.
OK the fuse keeps blowing. How do I locate and fix the problem? Thanks
I am assuming you are referring to the 10A fuse. Does it blow the moment you power up the ignition? (Fuses should never be replaced with the ignition on)
If so the most probable cause is chafed wiring that is causing a short circuit. Although this does not happen too often, if there is chafing on the wiring it will be in the door itself or the loom where it passes form the body of the car into the door or a wire that has come off its connector in the door.
A more common cause would be that the fuse pops the moment you operate the drivers window. This is a faulty window winder motor. You will have to remove the door panel to get at it. Remove all screws from the panel, starting at the bottom outer edge of the door, unclip the panel. There are clips in the panel that fit into holes in the door spaced about 3 inches apart. These clips are not visible. pull on the edge of the panel itself to release the clips. Disconnect the harness from the motor. Replace the fuse. Ignition on. Operate the window. If the fuse has not blown you have now confirmed a faulty motor. DIY repair of the motor is not advised. Listed in order of least expense: 1.Replace it with a unit from a salvage yard, 2.have it repaired by an auto electrician or 3.replace with a new unit from the agents.
If the fuse blows when you press the button and motor disconnected you have a faulty switch.

Yeah did that, i replace the 10amp fuse and it keeps blowing,..need to know what fuse under the hood takes care of the driver side window and moonroof? known of them seem to be blown except the 10amp one under the dash
Hi! Regarding the driver side power windows please try cleaning the contact of the control for it could be corroded causing it not to work. Regarding the radio and moon roof, please check for blown fuses and relays which can cause electrical failure. HOpe this helps and have a good one!
I know it is a fuse just wondering which one(s).
Please start looking under the dash. It usually has a legend on the cover to know which is which.

If the fuse keeps on blowing then there surely is a grounded wire which needs to be traced thoroughly.

Please do check if there are corroded fuse sockets. If there is, please try to clear it out this can cause it to fail too.
