I have the exact same problem. I have removed and reinstalled the software for my Lexmark printer with no success. I think this is a printer software issue.

suddenly saw this message as soon as i started my laptop.

    PRINTER CARD MONITOR STOPPED WORKING

  • stellesprit Mar 04, 2009

I get a message when I try to use my Lexmark X6570 with my laptop that the "printer card transfer monitor" cannot be found and that I should report it to Microsoft. Then if I try to print on it a message comes up that there is no communication with the laptop and I can't seem to remedy it, even though I have done many things including making sure my windows firewall will aceept it.

This does not happen with any other printer I use with my laptop.

Neither of you have given the Printer Make and Model number. We can not help without this. This seems to be going around in circles on the board and asked different ways by different people. I have seen this at least 3 times now.

How to Configure a Wireless Printer

Wireless printers typically come with a transmitter that a laptop, with a wireless adapter, can connect to and print from any location in a home. In order to configure a wireless printer you will need to install the drivers and software from the installation CD that came with the printer. You will be able to run the configuration for the printer driver, for the laptop, at the end of the software installation.

  1. Insert the installation disc for your wireless printer into the drive on your laptop computer.
  2. Wait for the Installation Wizard to appear.
  3. Click the "Next" button to continue and go through each screen to install the software for the printer.
  4. Select the option to "Configure printer driver now" on the last screen of the Installation Wizard.
  5. Click the "OK" button when the Information dialog box appears.
  6. Select the printer port for your printer when the Printer Port Setup dialog box appears.
  7. Click the "OK" button when the "addport" dialog box appears.
  8. Click the "Next" button to continue.
  9. Select your wireless printer from the list of installed printers when the Add Printer Wizard window appears.
  10. Click the "Next" button to continue.
  11. Click the "Connect" button when the Configure Printer Port dialog box appears.
  12. Wait for a connection to be made with the wireless printer and then click the "Finish" button to exit the Add Printer Wizard dialog box.
  13. Repeat this process on each computer that you want to connect to the wireless printer.

How do i reset my gateway mt6705 computor back to factory setting

Step 1:
Click "Start" on your Windows desktop. Navigate through "All Programs" and "Gateway." Click on "Gateway Recovery Management." Click "Restore" when the Gateway Recovery Management window pops up, which will take the system back to the default factory specifications. A box will pop up asking for confirmation, click "Yes" and then "Start." You may have to enter a password as well, but only if your particular Gateway had a password set. Wait for the computer to restart. A "Restore from factory default" box will appear, requiring you to click "Next" twice in a row. Click "OK" in the box that appears next, and wait for the hard drive partition to be created. The factory default installation will then be moved over to the hard drive. Click "OK" in the box that appears and wait for a second Gateway restart. Several minutes will pass as Windows "starts for the first time." When restarting finally finishes, a "Set Up Windows" dialog box will appear. Click "Next," followed by checking the license agreement box, and then "Next" again. Enter a user name and picture, if desired, and a computer name. Also, customize the background wallpaper for your desktop, optionally. Click "Next." Click "Use Recommended Settings" on the Protect Windows-based dialog box that pops up. Set your correct date and time settings in the next box. Select your location in the following screen. Click "Next," followed by "Start" to finish. Wait while Windows checks for your individual Gateway computer specifications and adjusts accordingly. This will likely take several minutes, so leaving your computer for a short time is fine. Windows will then prepare your hardware and finish your Gateway restoration process, including the installation of Gateway Recovery Management. Once completed, your Gateway is good to go and ready at factory settings.

Printer problem

You have asked this same question under a different name several times or you are copying someones question. Please do not do this and clarify your question. Asking a question several times by a different name is only going to clog the FIXYA system.
You have not given enough information for this to be solved. What O.S. is this? Have you tried to install the drivers again and have you updated the drivers? What kind of printer is this? Make and model number.

I do not understand your question. You did not even give me the kind of printer that this was. Try reloading your printer drivers and clear anything that you have tried to print from the printer.
I can't fix this for you, but if I helped you get it fixed, please rate it as a fixya not a helpful rating. These ratings let me be allowed to help you and others in the future.
