There are only springs that balance the machine. An even amount of clothes inside the washer keeps it balanced. But on the ropers the tub is designed to be very loose like it is. Load the machine evenly and you should be fine.

Hello Everyone, I have a Roper Top Load Washer (Model # RAX7245JQO) Type 107 It has been working fine until yesterday. I noticed it stopped after it filled with water before the wash cycle and would...

that sounds like you have done all you can and i appriciate a well written question stating exactly what you have already done(some times questions here is "it dont work") so then back to your washer. There are 2 more possiblities
1) the motor capiciator is bad and not giving the motor a bump in power to start it. To check that, its black and round and going to be on inside right side of back panel. To check it use a meter set to HIGH ohms one meter lead on each of the 2 terminals (each terminal may have 2 wires but only 2 two terminals) and the needle should swing up and drop back if cap. is good and the needle will stay at or near zero if cap. bad. If using digital meter the numbers will constiantly be in motion jumping from 10 thousand to 200 back to 5 thou. and so forth if cap is good and again the display will stay the same and never change if capiciator is bad

If capiciator checks good the motor is going to be the problem

Good luck,i have i have been able to help you fix your washer,

How do I find the water pump on a roper? Need to find out why the water won't drain.

disconnect the power supply then shut your water off unscrew your water hoses, then move washer out of it's space and look at the back panel proceed to unscrew the back panel look for hose connection that is water pump. If you overload washer with too much weight it will not drain also if you use too much soap it will cause a roper not to DRAIN this has happened to me check your drain line make sure it's properly installed ,take drain hose off and make sure it is clear you may have something stuck inside

My roper washers top half of the agitator stoped

you will need a flat blade screwdriver long plyers 7/16 socket and ratchet, the verry top of the agitator prys off look verry close you will see a spot to put the screwdriver, then take the plyers and carfully reach in side and pull on handle of the domed shaped piece gently. then remove the 7/16/ nut. then lift off the corkscrew top portion of the agitator. you will see 4 tear drop shaped pieces called dogs part # 80040, look at the way there in there so they can be put back right later, use a camera take pictures as you go to each step for reasembly.the thrust washer will probly need replacing to, it's the plastic washer that the cork screw part sits on. when you go to put it back together use some vasaline where the dogs go in the holder, this will help hold them in place durring assembly. look close at holder for square holes they need to line up with the flat pins on top of lower portion of agitator. use an exstention and a large socket to hold dog holder in top in agitator top wile puting it on lower half. use the bag the dogs came it to hold the bolt in the socket til you get it started, then pull bag off before tightening. use two exstentions to put inner cover back in then put main cover on you are done,be pacient this may test your pacients.

I have a Roper brand top loader washer and it fills up but it won't drain or spin.

If the motor doesnt run during the spin cycle and the tub stays full of water. You need to replace the lid switch. This is very common problem. The part should be around 35 bucks. Easy fix.
