If the computer is more than 3 years old, the card reader is probably not compatible with SDHC cards. you can buy one on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Zeikos-Flash-Memory-Reader-ZE-SDR5/dp/B002AH2AH2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281018170&sr=8-1

Amilo pi1505 will only read sd card not sdhc

Correct. The PI1505 will work with SD cards but not with SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for them. You can get a SDHC-compatible card reader which plugs into the USB port.

I have an Acer Aspire T180 with a built in 5 in 1 card/usb reader. I'm running Vista SP2 and for the life of me I cannot get this piece of junk to read an 8GB SDHC.... Acer does not have a driver that...

Typically the 5-in-1 driver is packaged up in the chipset driver. Have you checked the device manager to see if there are any yellow ? or ! or red X.
The X means the device is disabled. They yellow means there's a device/driver error. If you right click the device and select properties it should tell you the error code
If you can't determine which is the device. Download SIW or Aida64 to help you identify the device

Comment back. Post the error code if there is one.

Can any one tell me if there is an software update for an acer aspire t180 9-1 card reader so that it can take sdhc cards

If the card fits in the socket, the reader should read it.
However, you might want to go to Acer's site and check for updates for the reader.

No, it's a hardware issue. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card (the HC stands for High Capacity), but the card reader in your machine is clearly only compatible with the older type SD cards. SDHC devices will accept SD cards, but devices designed solely for SD cards cannot read or format SDHC cards.

There is no firmware update for this, your only fix is to buy an external reader compatible with SDHC cards for connection via a USB socket. Most new readers are fully SDHC compliant, but check the specs for shelling out your hard-earned...

This is a difficult one. It could be the card itself or the card is not formatted.

You may need to buy a card reader that has itself own driver for this format.

Try looking on the ACER sirte for a driver taht is compatible...

other... buy a card reader at www.newegg.com that is compatiblie.

Formatting troubles for a 8gb Sandisk Micro SDHC

Hi Tony,

Have your My Computer window open and re-insert the card into the reader. If it doesn't show immediately, then right click and choose refresh. It should show up then.

Connecting my cam panasonic fz28 to my pc

To solve this problem, I bought an SD card reader.

All you have to do is plug your SDHC card into the reader, then plug the reader into your USB port, and you should be able to access your images/videos.

I have the same 8Gb SDHC 15 MB/s plus the same camera (FZ28) and it works perfect for me. - Doing it this way is much easier.

You can find SD card readers (Which will work also for SDHC cards) on ebay for a small price of around 2-3 pounds (£) at cheapest. - Just type in "SD Card Reader".

Hope this helps.
