Question about Acer NSK8458AN Keyboard

1 Answer

I have a Acer USB Keyboard and Mouse that came with one USB When I got my new pc (Windows 7 64-bit) I put in the USB and it installed the drivers but then I tried the keyboard and mouse and neither of them worked, they use batteries and I put them in and there was a blue light on the mouse and keyboard but when I tried it, it still didn't work! I restarted at one point and then tried it but it doesn't work, what could the problem be?

First of all you need to download the 64-bit driver for you Acer keyboard or mouse. But it would be wise to try it one another computer and see if it functions.

Hi my wireless keyboard & mouse do not work at all on my Acer Aspire M3970, but both a cable keyboard & mouse do?

There is a USB receiver underneath the battery panel of the mouse, although it looks like part of the workings of the mouse. It's only a very small thing with a USB plug on it but it is there. The instructions don't show a picture of it, so it's very easy to think you haven't got one until you look closely

Unclip it and put it in your USB port and it should come up.

Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook Boots to Windows, but nothing works. No keyboard, no mouse, no usb or CD, no external monitor. I have an Aspire 5100 Acer Laptop that has no keyboard or mouse function period...

Try booting your computer from CD ROM with the OS CD/DVD already inserted and when prompted just try repair. If that does not work re-install the same on the same 'partition' assuming it to be C by deleting the the windows system files only. While doing so keep the internet on and immediately after the basic version of the OS is installed and the m/c boots-up for the first time, go to the official website and download the latest drivers for every component like toch-pad, keypad, display, audio, etc.(i.e. almost all the drivers)

System boots to the paasword area then the keyboard and curser freezes up can not put in password.

Sounds like a mouse driver error. Try unplugging the mouse and booting with only the keyboard connected. Once you've typed in your password and logged-in you will need to 1) delete the existing mouse driver and 2) plug your mouse in and let Windows discover the new hardware. Use the recommended driver and reboot your system after it's finished installing.

Good Luck!
