Before anyone says go get it fixed i was wondering if there was anything i could do myself. My power switch broke a few weeks ago but today i turned it on without the switch (from behind the screen) and it worked, but the light never turned on and i couldnt use the XO buttons. This probably means i should get it replaced huh...

That PCB is pretty basic, so if you are good at soldering tiny parts, IN PRINCIPLE, you should be able to fix it. That said, you must be certain that the switch itself is working and that the PCB is OK. Use a multimeter to check connectivity and functionality. To avoid the hassle, yes, it might be a good idea to just buy a new PCB, but be sure to be careful when disconnecting and reconnecting the ribbon cable, as it is very fragile.
ok, that blinking red light is a power supply malfunction. you could swap the good power supply with another from the spare systems you have there or, you could send to Sony for complete repair. the do it yourself is risky but cheaper.
L2 inductor comes out sometimes when dropped and the DS keeps in fixed amber light when charger is plugged in. But you found it fast so good luck. Its pretty sure your DS will work again after soldering the L2 again in its place near the power switch. Just get the battery and charger out before doing anything to avoid a blown fuse also.
You can buy a power switch circuit board replacement part off of ebay for under $5 (typically shipped from China). Buying the circuit board is easier than buying only the switch, since it avoids having to do any soldering. The power switch board can easily be swapped out and a new one reattached by connecting a few connectors.
