Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Ok here is a step by step process to solve your problem. Basically your system software has become corrupted. CAUTION! USING THIS METHOD WILL CLEAR YOUR SYSTEM OF SAVE GAMES AND ALL OTHER DATA!!
Step 1. Turn your system onto standby (Red light on)
Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it. Keep holding it until it beeps a further 2 times about 5 seconds apart. On the third beep the system will return to standby.
Step 3. Press and hold the power button again. Again it will beep when you first press it, beep again 5 seconds later then there will be 2 quick beeps together. Let go of the power button.
Step 4. The system will boot into the recovery screen. It will ask you to connect a controller via USB and press the PS button. After you have done this it will give you a menu.
Step 5. Select option 5, "Restore PS3 system". This will erase the software on your PS3 and rewrite it. After it is done it will reboot and hopefully everything will be working again.
Hope this helps
