I have a TD-5050 13 gallon air compresser that is a 5 Horse running motor. The mmotor will not start on it's own with out me turning the motor by hand to get it started. I have to let all the air out and than spinn the motor to get it started. If I do this it will run for a long time. I think i might have messed it up with using too light of electric cord.

I would not use a supply cord with less than 20 amp rateing a #12 wire, check voltage, is it a 120v or 240v motor . if its a 240 volt motor check to make sure it has the proper voltage at the motor. might be the start capacitor is weak or out as that 'starts' the electric motor

Your tank check valve is stuck/broke. It's on the tank end of the line from the pump to the tank. It is supposed to close when the pump stops to keep air in the tank and let the system bleed pressure out of the pump so the motor can start when there is pressure in the tank. The part you need is CAC-437-2 and is available through

I need a manual for a clarke bronco 6 gal compressor (ac20008). When I use the unit, I am cutting the circuit breaker off.

I would try a different outlet ( which should be on a different breaker ) -- sounds like your breaker is either bad or to low of a amp rating to handle the load of the compressor.

Air compressor starts fine, but trips the thermal reset ,motor seems hot. It does it in every receptacal I've tried.

With no air in the tank and amp meter connected to one leg of line, start compressor and note amp draw thru cycle. It should draw low amps at first then reach rated amp draw close to end of cycle(most likely 12-15 amps). If amp draw is normal then replace thermal breaker. Older compressors have thermal breaker incorporated within winding and may not be easily replaced (but not impossible). If amp draw is higher than rated, check capacitor for proper rating and make sure that the in-tank check valve is not leaking pressure back to pump. Good holidays

Try to use a higher amperage extension cord.
This unit is rated for 15 amps. It should be able to run on a 20 amp circuit unless there is voltage drop due to small wiring. Try an air conditioner extension and let us know the result.

Turn it on it buzzes and trips the fuse

One thing mine does, If it is plugged into a 15 amp circuit , it will do the same thing. It needs a 20 amp circuit to run, the start up motor on those things draw 16+ amps, and then run on 13. If it is cold, full of air, it won't run, if it has a cord of any length, forget it, It needs a big cord, 20 amp circuit, or no air in the tank and be warm. In the winter time we all had our compressors in the bathroom with the heat on, I though it was for us to warm up in, but it was for the compressors. I thought mine was the only that did it.

Hi there. Plug your compressor in as close to your circuit box as you can on a circuit that is dedicated to that outlet

What is happening is this. You have a 15 amp circuit and a 15 amp draw on your compressor. No wiggle room at all. If you need to get the air a long ways use air hose and never an extension cord. Joe
