Windows is severely corrupted. Time to reinstall. If you have important files that you cannot lose then before reinstalling boot from a Linux Live-CD and copy the files to an external memory.

thx for the response.. i,ve tried to re install windows, it starts to run the instillation then bule screens and restarts. if i use a linux program do you think i could get it passed that point

Actually there is no blue screen in Linux - if something fails you get an error message. But you must find out what has caused the blue screen first - try to read what's written on it and see if this is caused by a hardware failure. If you can't read that then just boot from a Linux Live-CD (that runs it without being installed) and check the hardware using the internal tests.

What does initializing mean

Initializing means that the printer is starting up and getting all functions ready such as fax, print engine, scanner. If your printer is freezing with just initializing on the screen then there is a problem. If you have added any extra memory to the printer remove and try to restart. Most common failure is the formatter itself.

I have an IBM ThinkVision 20" L200P LCD monitor. The OSD (On Screen Display) is corrupt and showing garbage characters. I believe it needs a factory reset to re-initialize itself but I cannot find...

Here are a few things you can do or try

Restart the computer. If you are already in Windows, you can do this from the Windows Start menu, go to Turn off computer and click Restart. As the computer restarts, watch for a progress bar at the bottom of the screen. press F8 about once every second. Immediately press F8 before the progress bar reaches the right side of the screen. From the Windows Start-up menu, highlight Safe Mode and press Enter. Wait for your desktop to appear, and then make the necessary repairs (for example, uninstall programs or devices). When the repairs are done, restart the computer, and allow it to boot normally.

Alternate:

From the Windows Start menu, click Run. In the Open field, type MSCONFIG and click Ok. On the BOOT.INI tab, check /SAFEBOOT.

Click Restart when prompted.

Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10 key,ie: Alt+F10, it will open the recovery console ,select full factory restore and follow on screen instruction. (Note:this will erase all datas on the computer)

Screen is on, but does not appear to be on

The monitor was broken. I returned it to the vendor for replacement. Your tech did not seem to feel it was a monitor problem and only focused on the video card - although I asked him directly regarding his confidence of it being a videio card problem versus being a monitor problem.

I will not use your service again.

Monitor randomly shuts off and computer restarts

After you turned it on and the screen shut off, check the image on the screen by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. This is because of the lamps inside screen. Some of them were broken and it is very easy to replace. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If the computer shut down immediately after the monitor shut off, it might be because of fault operating system. Check with another monitor.
Thank you,
