Need to remove monitor stand

should be four screws holding it on. Take them off and keep them safe. The monitor is made to take this off and mount to a VESA square block plate for wall-mount etc.. look and you will see them there.

The left and right insert part of the stand on my Samsung Syncmaster 403T broke. Where can I get a replacement part. The part no. is BN61-00424 for left and right insert of the stands.

Those aren't easy to find (if at all). Your best bet would be to ditch the original stand and get a VESA compatible mount or stand kit. You can usually get them for cheap on monoprice.com

Where can I buy a new base for the Samsung 24

The original Samsung stands will be very hard to find, only available from somebody that has wall mounted their monitor and no longer needs the stand. You can get a third party stand such as the one in the link below that will mount your monitor. All modern monitors have mounting holes in the back for VESA mounting, this is a standard configuration.

How do I remove the stand to mount the TV on the

the TV will mount to the wall via the VESA screw mounts on the back of the LCD. If it is a smaller, monitor sized LCD then the screw pattern will be either 75x75mm or 100x100mm. On larger TVs is it usually 100x200mm. Sometimes the base is screwed into this mount and othertimes to the bottom. Simply unscrew it from the screen. Be sure that the wall mounting kit can handle your LCDs VESA screw pattern, screen size and screen weight.

What is the ''cover bottom'' plate for?

Dont know this exact model, but I own a Samsung and so does my father so this proably applies:

The cover plate is supplied for use when the TV is wall mounted using a VESA mount secured to the four holes on the back of the TV. When wall mounted, the normal stand is removed and this leaves a bit of an unsightly "hole" in the case at the bottom. The cover you mention is then secured in place of the stand to make the bottom of the TV nice and neat.
You may find there was a separate leaflet in the box the TV came in detailing this aspect, which is why it isnt mentioned in the manual.

Monitor stand and power cable needed

Hi Kiran,
If the power cable matches the power cable of your computer, it's a standard 3 prong power cable and you don't need a specific kind. If it's a small circular type you will need an external AC adapter, the type will depend on the manufacturer and make of your monitor. These can be found on eBay usually. Most monitors use different types of stands, but if your monitor has the standard VESA 75 or 100mm mounting holes on the back, you can find many monitor stands that are compatible with it. The standard VESA mounting holes are usually used for wall mounts but lots of stands connect to the monitor this way. You can tell by a set of 4 holes for screws or bolts on the back that are either 75mm or 100mm apart (vertically and horizontally). Don't forget to get the right kind of bolts for the stand, if it doesn't include them.

Cannot find VESA holes...Samsung Syncmaster 970p

I have looked at the specification for this, and although it does show as being VESA compatible (This is a display standard) There is no mention of any "wall mounting" capabilities at all, which would lead me to believe that this is not designed to be put on a mount. also the "Magic Rotation" Technology which is part of this device may rely on it using the proprietory stand, it may well be possible to remove the stand however, but it would require some significant dissasembly as the power connector is on the signal box, and this would need to be seperated from the stand itself. The mounting bolts look to be hidden behind the round pivot cover on the back, and it may be possible to see if mounting is possible simply by removing this, however I would seek information from the manufacturer about this as removing any of the covers would most likely invalidate your warranty, it is possible that this was missold to you and you should be able to take it back as not being fit for purpose.
