Question about Audiovox XMCK10 Satellite Radio Receiver

1 Answer

No signal We recently had our XMCK10 reinstalled in a new vehicle. We got a signal for a few days but then kept getting a NO SIGNAL message (we didn't have this problem w/ the unit in our previous vehicle) . When we had XM send a refresh, it would work for a day or so and then went back to NO SIGNAL. The installer rechecked the connection and they said it was fine. Any ideas as to why we can't get or keep a signal?

My receiver comes on and I get the error message "Acquiring Signal" and everything appears to be connected. Just started doing this. Using the Aux. jack in my Nissan.

First...you still need a sirius antenna plugged into the device. If you just started using this you may just need to resend the signal. Just call the sirius/xm people and follow the recorded prompts to send a new satellite signal. Then make sure you are parked somewhere that it is receiving a good signal and wait. It could take up to 30 minutes to reset completely.

Sirius Receiver goes silent and displays Acquiring Signal.

I have a 3 year old Sportster 2 replay unit that worked perfect until 1 month ago. I posted my problem on this website a day before you did with this same problem. I googled to no end and even spoke to Sirius who wasn't willing to replace my unit at no charge since it was out of warranty. I found an unusual solution on the internet that worked for me. I place my receiver in the freezer for at least 20 minutes (this was recommended by a guy somewhere on the internet with the same problem). I have actually left it in freezer overnight too. This has solved my problem. It is the craziest thing but I thought I would try it before I resorted to replacing all my accessories and receiver since Sirius was less than cooperative with the issue. Anyway, hope this helps.

Acquiring Signal

Try resetting it to defaults if you haven't done that yet. I had a similar problem with a Stratus 4, and that took care of it for me.. Sounds like perhaps some kind of NVRAM gets corrupted and a full reset clears it up.

Good Luck. Hope it helps you like it did me.. Just remember to jot down all your presets first, because you will need to reset them.

My XM just recently started to cut out in certain locations that had no problem before. It seems to be getting a good signal the screen display does not cut out. I lose volume and get static just in certain spots. Anyone know where I should start looking for a fix.

The pins get easily damaged when switching from the car dock to the Belkin boom box. I have to constintly squeeze very ******* the top of the xt in order for it to make contact. Belkin will send you a plastic alignment fixture but it is too late. It still does the same thing.

Antenna not detected / Searching for signal

I have the same problem. It's happened twice now. Each antenna has lasted about 1 year. The connection is good, the antennas just stop working. It's almost like there's some built in life span. Who knows. It's ridiculous either way.

Antenna Not Detected. Now I have to buy a new one AGAIN $39.00 and re-wire thole whole thing in my car. PITA
