Do you mean the slot?
Is it the cable that goes into the LAN port?
If so you can use a LAN PCMCIA card and connect the LAN cable into this card.
OR
You can connect to the Internet using a USB 3G adapter which uses the cell phone network with a cell phone provider.

Catalyst control center has stopped working on my Lenova ideapad 2565

Two hardware drivers gone awry at the same time - a possible weak or corrupted spot where they are written on the hard disk. Since you do not have a connection to the internet (and perhaps no driver discs) then have another computer or someone who has a connection to the nternet to download the display and network drivers so they can be re-installed.

My lenova ideapad has been running via my linksys wireless router. today it dropped it and will not locate it. the wireless is functioning on my other devices but i can connect my computer only via ca

Update the wireless card driver. You can get the update in the website of your computer's manufacturer. Since you can't access the internet with your lenovo, use the other computer and save the update file. Put it in a USB drive and install it to your defective computer.

After installing the update, the internet should be back. If it's fixed, I suggest that you install RadarSync to keep the drivers updated so that you won't get the same problem in the future.

One more possible reason of this issue is your firewall settings. Try checking it, it might be blocking the wireless connection.

Hello, everyone!! i have lenovo ideapad y560 with inbuild tv tuner & also a connector wire to connect dish cable to laptop... but my question is that how do i watch tv on my laptop OR in which...

Hi

TV tuner cards allow you to view programming on a computer system. Although desktop computers allow you to install internal TV tuner cards, laptop systems do not have the available space for internal cards. Because of this, laptop computers have PCI express card slots. This slot allows you to install and remove (at your will) additional hardware, such as TV tuner cards.

  • TV tuner card
  • Driver installation CD
  • Software installation

  1. Locate the PCI express card slot (located on the side of your computer opposite the disc drive). Push in on the protective cover on the slot to unlock it from the case. It pops out slightly, allowing you to remove the card.
  2. Slide in the TV tuner into the PCI express card slot. The card clicks into place and a light blinks on when the card has connected successfully to the laptop computer.
  3. Insert the driver installation CD into the disc drive of the computer. Momentarily a driver installation wizard appears on the screen. Click "Next" on the welcome page, then accept the given license agreement. Choose "Next" two more times, then select "Install" and the drivers from the driver installation CD install onto the computer.
  4. Eject the driver installation CD and insert the software installation CD. This is the program you use to view the connected receiver. As with the driver installation CD, wait for the installation wizard to load up onto the screen. Accept the license agreement, leave the installation name and location blank, then click "Install" to install the software.
  5. Restart the computer. Upon restart the laptop is ready to begin using the TV tuner card.

How can i connect PC with Xp installed to laptop lenova with windows 7 installed.

if you want to connect both computers in a network the only thing you need is Ethernet cable. if you want both computers to share internet connection you need a router. connect your modem in the router and connect both computers in the router. there are also wifi enable routers wherein you can connect both of your computers wirelessly if they are wifi enable devices.

Wireless connection problems

Its hard to diagnose cause the process starts long before your current setup..ie, programming your router. So I have attached a website from Microsoft that walks you thru the steps to set up your wireless home network so you can backtrack...good luck and let me know if you have any problems. Pls rate this solution.
