Question about Acer Aspire 4720 Notebook
This seems to be a problem specific to Acer laptops. I have a 7540-1284 at least once a week the wireless light goes out and I lose my connection. And it insists on trying to connect thru wired means. The prompt always pops up. The only way I have found to re-connect my wireless (so the light comes back on) is to restart the system. Even then, sometimes restart wn't do the trick and I have to go thru Safe Mode and do a self diag. Then it lights up and comes back on.

Most laptops have an external switch to turn on the wireless adapter. The ones that don't have to be turned on in the setup screen. If this adapter is on in the setup screen, then make sure that your driver is installed and that the adapter is enabled in the device manager. If this does not work then your adapter has gone bad. Of course never discount the possibility of a virus.
