SOURCE: SENCO COIL ROOFING GUN DOESNT ADVANCE NAILS

Clean the track and piston by removing nail tray (there are a couple of allen screws)and removing the gunk from the nail tape and if you have been shooting something glued that to. Remove head assembly and thoroughly clean and oil that also. that should fix you right up I have a couple of these guns and that is typical.
If that is no the problem rebuild the gun it is worth it as they are a great air gun
Hope this helped

SOURCE: I have seen many nails that supposedly fit the

Senco uses 33 degree paper tape clip head, however many generic brands will label their box 30-34 degree to fit several nailers. This practice causes jams in some guns and others work fine. The goal is to save money but could cost more in the long run if gun is damaged. You can use generic (other than 33) if you take a strip of nails and place them against the outside of the rails aligned with either the line of driver path of angle of the rails. This will give you a visual as to the alignment. Best result is when the complete nail is in line with the path of driver. Next best result is when the head is in the path of driver and point of nail is slightly away from path, worst is when point hits path and head is back. Good luck

OK, second shot at this: About 65% of the time my SFN30 Senco finish nail gun only shoots a nail every OTHER pull of the trigger. All the O-Rings are good and the driver blade is perfectly straight.

There are 4 main causes usually with this tool:
1) Check the seal in the bottom of the cylinder (under the bumper) #BF0070 (#12 on the breakdown) If this seal is missing or worn the piston will not always return fully.
2) The pusher spring #GD0253 in the magazine is not moving the nails forward
2) The driver is bent or the tip is worn / chipped
3) The check valve ring #LB0077 on the cylinder is not sealing properly

My Senco finish nail gun only shoots a nail every OTHER pull of the trigger. It's a model SFN30 and does this about 65% of the time. It's clean and has really had very little use.

Your driver is not returning fully.
Most often this is caused by:
1) A bent driver blade - pull the driver out and inspect it, make sure it is straight.
2) A broken seal o-ring on the bottom end of the cylinder (#66)

My senco sfn1 finish nail gun is leaking air

The SFN1 is a great nailgun, built for professionals, and is pretty much indestructible. It's air leak is most likely an O ring that is worn out. While it is theoretically possible to figure out which one it is, and replace it, the smart move is to have the gun rebuilt by an approved service tech. I usually pay about $60 to have my SFNs gone through. My oldest SFN1 is 18 years old, and it has only been rebuilt once.

When the 2in 18 gauge nail enters the wood it turns in the wood and comes out the side of the wood,

Hi,
That is actually the nail failing. If you try shooting any 2in. 18ga. nail into something hard like Maple or even red oak, the nail will bend. It will typically follow the grain. So Go to at least a 16 ga. nail for hardwoods.
