If you're referring to the Nikon ML-L3 wireless remote, you need to set the camera's shooting mode to one of the remote modes. Quick remote fires the camera when you press the button. Delayed-response remote waits two seconds to let you hide your hand behind your back before taking the picture.

For full details, refer to your manual under "Shooting modes."

How do you make the ML-L3 wireless remote controller for Nikon D7000 work?

Press the release mode dial lock release and turn the release mode dial to the remote control position.

Full details are in the "Release Mode" section of the manual (page 77 in my copy).

Lens won't retract when turned off

Well, it's either the battery is exhausted, or there is an object sitting in the lens sleeve.

Nikon Cool Pix 5000 will turn on

your description says will turn on..but it looks like you describe will NOT turn on.. a dead unit.. ok, i have same issue and lucky enough to have TWO of these, the second one with a very different problem. I will troubleshoot between the two and get one working, will post results back here.. preliminary web search suggests unit has a DC to DC onboard voltage converter and DOES incorporate a fuse or more.. hopefully only a fuse is blown.

Nikon Coolpix 5000

On the screen I take it. But get a print or view images in computer to check how far this goes. It will need to go back to Nikon for a fix though.

Nikon 5000 focus probs

Depending on how long you have had the camera - Nikon may come up with a free solution. Contact Technical Support at Nikon. The auto focus is not functioning as it should. Do make sure you are not covering any 'Windows' on the front of the camera when taking, shots.

Start up delay when using the MC-EU1 Remote Control with Coolpix cameras

When you turn the camera on it senses a device plugged into the USB port and must wait to determine what is connected (computer, remote, etc.). It may take up to ten seconds for the camera to realize that it is not connected to a computer and become ready to take photos. If you turn the camera on and then press the Shutter button on the Remote it will turn on almost instantly.
