Question about Lexmark X5470 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Had a paper jam, and removed paper from the bottom by pulling on it gently. paper was 100% in tact
clear paper jam error will not shut off,
have shut off printer both by
manual shut off button,
pullling plug at the printer
and by pulling plug at the wall socket,
each time when the printer starts up the error still returns when printer is turned on the clear printer jam error returns.
I tried the first solution with the 9 pieces of paper and it worked. It turns out that a small paper clip had fallen into the paper path and the paper pushed it out. Thanks!

How to Resolve PapPaper Jam error - null.gif/b>
If the paper is lodged too far into the printer and can't be removed:

Got a printer with same problem and apparently nothing there was nothing in the paper path. However, after following the suggestions mentioned here, I inserted paper manually and when paper reached the printing area, I turned the printer on. Once the printer initialized moving the ink carriage to the center then back to its home position, then rollers moved, I noticed that paper didn't get pushed out of the printer. I noticed a sheet of plastic perfectly aligned with the roller which prevented the paper sensor in the printing area to fall down to its position into a space for it. As this sheet of plastic was apparently aligned with the rollers and just because I noticed the roller that looked as if this pastic was leaving a mark on it, I decided to gently push the plastic back into the paper path with a flat screwdriver, the pastic sheet moved back, the sensor fell and the error cleared ! Then, I went to the paper entrance to the back of the printer and noticed this plastic that was hard, stiff and similar to a paper guide in other printers but it looked as if it did not belong there. I decided to pull it out from the back and saw that it was a plastic that held a bunch of inexpensive hair pins !!!!!
I know that this solution is unique but this tells me that the paper sensor was doing its job. Hope this helps to others.
