Question about Frigidaire Refrigerators

I have a black, side-by-side 26ft3 model # GS6SHAXMB00 dated 9-03. The refrigerator door handle is working loose. I do not readily see a way to tighten the handle. Please advise. Thanks, bill

There is no plastic "button" covering the screw. Maybe the cover pops off the entire handle?

Hello,

The screw is covered with a plastic.
Use small flat head screwdriver to pop up the plastic cover, its about the size of a penny.
Tighten screw and push plastic cover back on.

Take care.

Freezer door handle is loose

Usually those handles push directly up to come off the pegs. You really have to "lean in" to push the handle against the door and then try to slide it up. Once you get it off, you can tighten the studs (or whatever hook/clip thingy they came up with) and slide it back on.

On my Kenmore Elite #106.56683501 the refrigerator door is loose

Depending on the model, and the color, here's your fix.

Stainless with stainless handles- you'll need a hex key. The tiny hole is on the inside of the handle, close to the center. Turn the key until it's tightened.

Stainless with black handle/white/bisque/black- push the door handle up. Careful not to scratch the finish! once the handle pops, pull it straight off. Take a phillips head screw driver, tighten the top screw A LITTLE BIT and then attach again. Insert screws on the door into the holes on the handle, slide down. (will need to be a little tough with it.)
Good luck!

Loose freezer door handle on my whirlpool side-by-side refrigerat

you should be able to pull straight up on the handle (with force) and it will come loose from the retaining screw. usually its just the retaining clip that comes loose from the door but sometimes you will have to replace the entire handle to repair the unit. if your not having any luck getting it off message me with a complete model number for your refrigerator and i will see if i can get you a little  more detailed information. thx peyton

Door handle on 2dr model GS6SHAXMB00 is loose on the top and it will not slide up and off like the reference book shows. How to fix

jjust grab the bottom of the handle and the top and pull up slowly but firmly it will pop loose. If the handle is wiggly then just tighter the screws on the handle to tighten it. It will require a star key so if you dont have one just use pliers to tighten it. be sure to put handle back same way you found it because it has a slight curve on it. good luck! email me if anything at chrisrubio827@yahoo.com
