Camera turns on, and then turns off again right away

My M1033 had the same problem...I found a blog about someone using air to clean around the lens area...I cleaned my lens very thoroughly and noticed some gunk and once I cleaned this off, the camera seems to work like new!

Kodak M1033 lens comes out but will not go back

Here are the steps: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. 3. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. It won't stay powered up

Hi!
Either the lens stucks in outter position or the focus is stuck. It's hard to tell without seeing it and taking apart the camera and lens. You should give it to a local repair shop or Kodak service center.
I work in Kodak service center.

Its turns on beeps then shuts off

The problem you describe is frequently the result of dirty/corroded battery contacts in the camera. Try removing the batteries and cleaning the inside contacts with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper. Remove any residue left from the cleaning, then replace the batteries. Hopefully all will be well.

If the cleaning doesn't work you might want to check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

I have a Kodak M1033 camera that I bought just over 6 months ago. I took it on holiday it worked fine and then suddenly it switched off. Since then it only powers up for about 5 seconds, shows a unfoc

I'm not sure why this works for me, but I think it's worth a try:

1) First, take your SD card out of the camera.

2) Then turn on your camera and let it turn itself off.

3) Read the next step first and be ready to press the shutter release button (take a picture) right after the LCD screen turns on

4) With the camera lens pointed down towards the floor (aim down), turn on the camera. At this point the LCD screen should not be blurry anymore. Immediately press the shutter release after confirming that the LCD is not blurry. If the camera stays on and you can review the picture (most likely of your feet), then you are almost done.

5) Turn off the camera and re-insert your SD card.

5) This may not be a permanent fix, but point the camera lens downward whenever you turn on the camera. It should work normally if you do this. Mine worked normally (meaning I don't have to point it downward when I turn it on) after doing this several times. Your results may vary.
