Hello all. Our family has a Zenith Z27X74W 27" Traditional Console Model that has started giving color problems. The Serial No. is 781-42431188 and it was manufactured in October 1997. Our family has always bought Zenith's as far as a living room television, although I'm a tried and true Panasonic fan for everything, and it used to be, that Zenith's were very stout TV's, but this is the second one in the 90's that we've bought, and we realize that they're junk now. But anyhow, what's happening with it. It's a yellow tint most all the time, unless something bright and blue comes on and then it seems too bluish. Judging from what I've read on here, it seems like the common Zenith picture tube failure warning signs, but I wanted to make sure by asking you all if you knew what it was, and if there's any use in fixing it.
I would really appreciate any help you all could give. :-)

See my other post response to a Zenith regarding other possibilities as 1997 was right at the end of the really bad Zenith tubes.
Q5104 leaky can make it look like a bad tube, Video pre-drivers near jungle ic, resistors on crt pcb, plus the possibility of a bad crt. Only proper troubleshooting and checking can confirm or deny a tube.

I replaced the main module on my 27 Zenith and it works fine now. My daughter won;t give it up. I, unfortunately, purchased a new tube first. You can call Zenith and they will send parts at a very reasonable price.
