Sounds like over condensation caused by the uncooled area but may also be a clogged drain hole on the outside of the unit

Frigidaire AC window unit, model fam185r2a (18,500 BTU) only cools for a few minutes before it cycles off and just fan blows. Then a few min later cool air cycles back on. Is this a thermostat issue?

The window units normally have a sensor thats attached to the front of the indoor coil. This controls the thermostat. I usually pull this sensor away from the coil because it stops cooling before the room is cool. It is attached to the cold coil so it senses the coil temp, not the room temp. You can normally see it when you remove the air filter. Don't break it! It may be a wire or small copper tube

Is there a drip hole, itsgot water in it

Try Check on the underside, or sides near the rear of the unit (outside) you should see it there. Some have and some do not, most of the water evaporates, or Spills over the edge at the rear of the unit, if you have it installed correctly you should'nt have any issues with water in there.

Do you need brackets for outside wall installation for the frigidaire 15000 btu air conditioner.

No you do not. Not a bad option, but if wall sleeve nstalled properly this unit will not need brackets.

Frigidaire thru-wall AC drips water when AC is on

The drain line is clogged. You will have to remove it again, open it up and access the drain line and clean it out.
It will be on the right or left corner of the evaporator coil(inside coil).
You will probably have to take it outside and use a garden hose the spray water into the drain until it runs freely.
When you reinstall it tilt it 1/2 inch to the rear.

Whinny noise is probably motor which needs some motor machine oil (hardware store).

Freezing is probably caused by bad de-icing switch or poorly insulated de-icing switch.

If you want to further pursue, let me know.
