SOURCE: 46" projection not coming on

The P46924 uses the PTK195 series chassis. You do NOT have a power supply or flyback (high voltage) transformer problem. The regulator is the small MOSFET on the heat sink next to the AC power cord. The STK730-010 regulator on a small board above the chassis is the power supply for the convergence. If the STK regulator was bad you would have a picture but the colors would not line up. If the flyback was shorted the set would instantly shut down without making a sound. If the main power supply was not working the set would not even start at all. Is the static sound you hear coming from the speakers, or is it originating down inside the set? Does the static sound like a set that does not have an antenna hooked up or does it sound like a snapping, arcing sound? Try this: Remove the back of the set, dim the lights in the room and have someone press the power button while you look in the back. Do you see flashes of light, like sparks or high voltage arcing? Let me know what you see and hear and we will guide you to the next step.

SOURCE: will not turn on

I have an RCA projection widescreen TV model # D52W19B and was watching when it made a pop noise and turned itself off. Now when you try and turn on you get a high pitch beep but TV keeps shutting itself off with no picture or anything. Could this be the bulb went bad?

When I turn on my Sony TV, ti stays on about 30 seconds then shuts off, What do you think is wrong?

Do a Power Reset.
1. Turn off TV.
2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
5. Turn on the TV.
If issue persists after doing the steps, reset the TV to factory default settings.
1. Turn on the TV.
2. Using the supplied remote, press and hold the UP arrow button.
3. While holding the UP arrow button press the POWER button on the TV itself.
4. When the TV goes off, release the POWER and UP arrow button.
5. The TV will turn on by itself and the initial setup screen will be displayed. Just follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup.

We had lighnting storm pass by and our TV was plugged into a surge protector along with many other devices. When the storm passed the TV will not turn on anymore.

Likely, the surge protector failed.

Depending on the manufacturer, you may have some sort of warranty available. That is, the manufacturer of the surge protector may reimburse you for the cost of TV repairs.
But foremost, try plugging the TV directly into the wall. It could be that the socket or surge protector were fried, but your TV is ok.

I have a gateway desktop computer. Recently moved

Before you actually replace the power supply, check some other things first:
1. Wall socket
2. Power strip/surge protector
3. Power cable
4. On the back of the computer, where the power cable plugs into, is the red switch set to 115? It should be 115.
5. Make sure that the power cable is not connected to a regular extension cord. Power cable must plug directly into a surge protector that is not daisy-chained to another power strip, surge protector, or normal (household) extension cord. Surge protector must be directly plugged into wall socket.

If none of the above solve the problem, open up the case and ensure that all power connections are secure. Also check ALL other components' connections. Any loose connections can cause problems for you.

If everything is secure and the problem persists, replace the power supply.

Tv will not turn on

HI, check the wall outlet to make sure that it is live.if you are using a surge protector, i would pull the unit from the protector and, try a wall outlet. sometimes the surge protector will short out and, it will seem that the TV is the issue. if the protector is fine and, the wall sockets are ok, this will confirm a more serious issue that concerns the power sector inside the unit.

You will need to replace the power supply board or, fly back assembly in this case.

Sony Grand WEGA KF42WE610 42" turns on and off

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

Please make sure that the videos sources are connected properly to the TV.

Try Power Resetting the TV.

Please disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet (for approximately 1 minute), then reconnect the power cord and check whether the issue is resolved.

Also try connecting the TV to a different wall outlet and check if that helps.

Does the surge protector have a "in and out" phone socket? Plug everything into the "out" side and then run a "phone wire" from the "in" side into the wall socket,.. you should be protected.. You are putting "all your stuff" after the surge protector.. so the surge protector can do its job..
