Most likely the diodes are burnt out. You will probably need a new motor.

Hot tub wont turn on.

That doesn't sound good, is it 110 volts or 220? if it is 220 you can not wire it backwards. the hum might be that there is not enough power to turn it over. it could be a loose wire, bad connection, or a bad start run capacitor. if it is a capacitor it is located under the hump cover on the motor.

I have a Hyflo jacuzzi bathtub pump. I just tried to turn it on and it hums and acts like it wants to work but it's not pumping. I had this problem with a hot tub pump and all I had to do was blee

If you motor is just humming then it is not starting and is no good.
HyFlo pumps were made by HydraBaths in the 1990's. They are no longer made. We have replacements for them.

Even humming sound made when washer starts continous

Most likely a motor or solenoid has a loose coil or its magnetic field is vibrating a nearby piece of steel. If it hums all of the time except when the washer is filling, it is the timer or main motor. If it hums only when the washer is filling, it is one of the water valves (you can isolate by selecting hot or cold instead of warm for one of the cycles).

The timer motor is on the control panel right behind the cycle select knob. The main motor is under the tub. If the main motor is humming, it may be overloaded, but in that case, the humming should diminish as the motor gets up to speed.

I have a CSC compacitor 50UF /- 6% 370VAC 50/60HZ, thinks it bad, my hot tub motor just hums but will turn free by hand

The capacitor on top of the motor is the run capacitor. The reason the motor is just humming is more likely the start sw located behind the end bell housing. There is a spring loaded clutch mechanism that may be stuck so the switch is not being activated. A simple fix at any motor shop.

Whirlpool Pump - Hums, no water flow...

The impeller and/or motor shaft is stuck or seized. If accessible you can try rotating the motor shaft with a visegrip plier or similar tool to see if it will come lose. Otherwise you should consider having the pump taken out and overhauled. Often the shaft seal begins leaking and result in water damage to the motor bearings. Bearings can be replaced, but compare labor and parts for overhaul to simply replacing the whole pump.

My Mustang pool motor by Waterway musts-120 is just humming when it is turned on. It is connected to a timer, but the pump is working fine, just the motor is humming. What do I do? Is my motor toast?

Check your loacl yellow pages for an electric motor repair shop. They may find it is fixable but could at least tell you if it is salvagable or not. Some even carry replacement motors at costs lower than the pool stores.

The washer hums and blows the breaker

It sounds like a motor problem to me. The transmission in not elecrtical but it could be locked up. Try turning the tub by hand and see if it turns. if not take the motor out (unplug first) and try to turn the transmission. But with the "hot smell" more and likely the motor is shot. This is all depending on your type and modle of machine you have. Let me know.

Hi JOEY JIGSAW,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: 2ND MOTOR ON TUB IS HUMMING BUT NO WATER MOVMENT REPLACED WATER TODAY #1 MOTOR IS WORKING IN LOW AND HIGH SPEED BUT #2 MOTOR IS NOT KICKING ON

Definately an electrical problem. First check the switches, if you find a bad switch replace it. Check the wire connrctions. A bad connection will cause great frustration. If you've been carefull with the first two steps and it's still not working it's time to see if # 2 motor has siezed up. Do this only if you know what you're doing. It requires disconnecting the wires to the motor and applying 110 volts from another source directly to the motor wires. If the motor just hums and gets hot, it's time to replace it or take it to a small motor repair shop. It might be wise to check the Repair Directory for a repairman.
