SOURCE: heat in dryer not hot enough, runs cool not hot

You may have a leg of power out. First turn off the breakers, then back on to insure a good reset. Then check the wiring at the receptacle, then the plug, then the wiring to the back of the dryer. This may be the problem. Have you cleaned the lint tray?

SOURCE: my amana gas dryer (model # lg8519w2)has an

first check you exhuast. If you have access to the vent outsid where the vent termintes the check and see if there is no lint build up or make sure nothing is block the air flow to the outside(storage caontainers or anything that will block the airflow from the dryer to the outside)..if no blockage or lint build up, then i would change you gas coil vales. they are located on you gas valve. they are 2 black looking things. But make sure when if you change them, one of them has a metal sleeve that goes on the shaft...make sure you know whick one it came from and slide it back on there..sometime when you take the old oned out, itll come off with the coil. Just take it out and slid it onto the gas valve. Like i said tho, make sure you know whick one it came off from...but yeah, try changing you gas valve coil....if its an amana dryer then there should be that bottom panel to take off and the gas valve should be right there..hope this helps

It wont heat

never heard of having a pilot light as well an ignitor, the two don't go together. If your have a pilot light that is on the unit is getting gas. If there is pilot light there is usually a knob to switch between pilot light, off, and active on. maybe set to pilot light only.

No heat gas log furance

if it has a pilot light, then it would not have an ignitor. also if it has a pilot light, it should have a knob that has settings for just the pilot light, just off, or on. Find that knob and check settings

I have an Amana Designer Series Gas Dryer. It worked fine for more than 10 years. Suddenly, yesterday it still ran, but there was no heat. I opened the bottom panel while it was running, and...

Motor runs, but main burner will not ignite
1.heat switch set wrong---correct switch setting
2.defective timer or timer circuit---check timer wiring--replace timer motor or switch as needed
3.defective centrifugal switch in motor---clean switch or replace as needed
4.gas supply valve closed----open gas valve
5.inoperative solenoid coil---test coil for open circuit & the voltage to it
Pilot burner goes out
1.insufficient gas supply---- low gas pressure or clogged pilot filter or partially closed gas valve
2.carbon deposit on thermocouple tube---clean tube & check pilot burner for proper combustion
3.improperly adjusted pilot flame--adjust pilot flame until faint yellow tip begins to appear
4.faulty ignition or reset valve or thermocouple---replace

Is there a pilot light on amana gas dryer model LG4309W

There is no standing pilot light. The gas is ignited by a hot surface device that is electrically controlled. Trace the exhaust venting to locate the burner area.

Amana Gas Dryer Model LG44097 suddenly quit heating. Can I correctly assume the problem is the Fabric Selection knob, part PS2201078 that controls heat/no heat?

probably not as these rarely go. More likely is that the glow bar ignitor on the gas valve has failed. Unlike old gas models, today's dryers do not use a standing pilot but a glow ignitor. This is the weakest link in the system. Part number fsp-279311

Gas Dryer won't stay hot

There is a thermoelectric eye that says it is OK to keep the gas burner on. If this sensor is defective or blocked from "seeing" the gas flame is properly lit, it will turn off the gas flow (safety) override solenoid. With the unit unplugged make sure that the optical path on the upper right (1:30 CW position) flame tube inside sensor window is clean. The rattle you hear is probably the safety gas shut-off solenoid engaging. If you need more help, please ask -- SWT
