Yesterday, updated bios for ferrari 4000(4005WLMI) notebook. after that... black screen symptom every time push the power button. can you please tell me how to reset the bios thank you so much jason

Please follow these steps very carefully.


When you first turn your computer on, you are briefly presented with a BIOS "splash" screen.Where there are instructions on how to access BIOS settings. Generally, this requires tapping a function key, say F2, while the splash screen is visible. Make note of which key the splash screen says to press to access the BIOS and restart your computer.


When the computer boots and the splash screen appears, tap the required function key quickly to enter the BIOS settings screen. You will only have a couple of seconds to hit the right key and if you miss it you'll have to restart the computer and try it again.


Once you successfully enter the BIOS settings screen, use the arrow and function keys to navigate the menus. Keep an eye out for an option that says "reset to factory defaults." If you see this, follow the on-screen instructions to reset the BIOS to the factory settings. Then, confirm your choice and exit the BIOS screen, usually by pressing escape. Congratulations, you are done.


If your BIOS does not have an option to return to factory settings, things are more difficult. Because the BIOS is stored in ROM, it must have a constant power supply to store any changes you make to it, otherwise it would reset every time you disconnected your laptop from AC power. Removing power to the BIOS resets it to factory settings and involves disconnecting a small battery attached to the motherboard.The BIOS battery is easily accessible through a door on the bottom of the unit. Unplug the computer, remove the main battery and touch something metal to ground yourself.

Remove any screws holding the BIOS battery door in place. Then identify the battery, (it is generally a small lithium "watch" battery), and remove it taking care not to damage any surrounding circuitry. Let the computer rest for a minute or two to discharge any remaining power, and replace the battery.

    There could be a few problems here all giving similar symptoms.
    Try, when it has booted up, running CHKDSK/F from the Start button.
    If that doesn't fix it, check you have the latest BIOS update from Dell by logging on to Dell's web site and following the leader prompts.
    Load the latest Windows updates.
    Hope fully that will fix your errors.

    I have been using acer Ferrari 1100 for the past two years now, but recently when I open like two to three applications same time, it will just show blue screen and restart itself. please what can I do


    It seems something in your Ferrari giving problem. (hardware).
    You can start checking with the HDD.
    Go to BIOS and run the HDD self test, If it passed you can run the memory test.
    I am sure one part from these two is faulty.

    1.Please find this IC on motherboard EPU asp0800 near the CPU Socket

    2.Press the IC with finger,at the same time press the power buttom

    (If CPU fan is running on short time please do step 3 )
    3.Power on your soldering iron and contact each side of this IC about 3 seconds( soldering iron to contact IC lead left to right or right to left)
    4.Review each side of IC and check any short between IC lead5.After step 4 done, power on pc again, if PC booting congratulation

    6.Final check: put finger on ic top side surface (don't touch the IC lead)feel the temperature if too hot that's mean short between IC

    Hi. Try troubleshooting steps below if the computer is still turning on after you push the power button.

    Take out the battery
    Unplugged the power adapter
    Press and hold the power button for 30 secs
    Plugged everything back in
    Power on the computer

    Acer Aspire 1800 Won't boot


    I recently had Acer Aspire One Laptop with very similar symptoms: No screen, no lights (those that indicates activities) except Power button. I first thought the Hard Disk is dead but it's not.
    I contacted Acer helpdesk in Australia and they have sent me a document with BIOS update and instructions. I did what it says and then the laptop is back to normal. Yours may have the same issue - need BIOS update. The Aspire One BIOS update requires a FAT USB drive with the updated BIOS and the BIOS Flash program, plugged it in, press and hold 2 buttons: Fn and Esc, then press Power button for a while.
    You should seek Acer Support website. But you may need proof of purchase.

    OK the power on password is the bios password

    To reset the bios password
    1.) open the laptop
    2.) Remove the laptop battery
    3.) on th main board is another battery remove that as well
    4.) hit the power button(it will be a switch which the button pushes) 5 times
    5.) replace board battery
    6.) reassemble
    7.) THAT JUST RESET YOUR BIOS AND BIOS PASSWORD,
    enter setup and load optamised defaults and your set

    TO REMOVE WINDOWS PASSWORD
    1.) download hirens boot cd from here www.phazeddl,com
    2.) boot from cd
    3.) USE THE WINDOWS PASSWORD RESET TOOL TO RESET YOUR PASSWORD
    4.) YOUR DONE
