Wont read discs - Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

This is actually a really common problem and involves the laser inside your console. Your system actually has 2 seperate lasers (or a dual laser) inside it. One for DVD discs and one of Blu-Ray Discs. Your first step is to get a laser lens cleaner cd from a local computer repair shop or CD Music store. If this doesn't work, then your Blu-Ray laser might have gone out of alignment, or there is a large enough amount of dust on it that a laser lens cleaner won't work. At that point you will need to contact PlayStation about a repair :( Sorry
