if you contact Leapfrog they will replace it for you, they seem to know the problem exists and instead of recalling it they are just replacing them if/when consumers call in. We have had the same problem with previous versions of the Leaspter.

Take the cartridge out of the Leapster, blow into the opening with your mouth. Do the same with the Leapster (blow into it). Insert the cartridge and see if that works.

HI my son has a LEAP frog MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NOTHING OBSTUCTING THE CONTACTS( metal on the game and the cartdridge meet)
PLEASE RATE THIS HELP FiXYa EXPERTS HELP

its not recognizing the game, contact is probably dirty. take an eraser and rub the contacts of the cartridge and get them super clean, blow out ALL the debris and that should fix it.
