The flywheel nut should come off counterclockwise. Hold the flywheel with a good pry bar against some solid so as not to damage anything. After that is off the flywheel will be on there real tight. Let me know if you haven't done it before , I can help you there also.

There are no timing marks, timing is correct when the flywheel key is in place, the flywheel is properly torqued and the air gap for the magneto is properly set

Briggs ang stratton offers a very inexpensive flywheel puller for under 20 dollars. The part number is 19203 and is avail at all briggs & stratton service centers. If you dont wish to buy the puller the dealer can pull it for you for a minimal fee. Alternate method which i do not recomend is to strike the flywheel with a brass hammer. Somtimes it will pop right off. Good luck hope this works
