Tell us exactly how it's connected and what the receiver model is. Too many variables.

Thanks for your attention, it is connected via rca cables to a open input port to a Sony receiver, but I am not getting any sound, and it shows it is playing. Could it be that only works with the original equipment, which died a few months ago?

Close, but not EXACTLY a modl lnumber or how it's connected. What output to what input? Is the proper source selected? Does it work withg its onboard FM. Clues, please.

Connection goes this way: a/v cables from cp-1770 audio output to a/v audio input on Sony receiver/amplifier,via rca cables. the cp-1770 does not have a selector of otput, only switches are regular play, forward and reverse, display shows tracks playing, can go up and down the cd index, but no sound out to amplifier.

You're still not defining the audio hardware sufficiently ('SONY' doesn't tell me much); and "a/v cables" is vague.

Unfortunately I can't find a picture of your Sanyo to see the back panel so you need to describe what's going on; and define the SONY piece, as THAT is where the sound will come from, right?

Lay out exactly what cables and what ports are connected everywhere in the audio side. Specify if a digital interface is being used or not.

Answer this: does the Sony produce sound with its FM? I need to know if the Sony can produce sound at all.

If you want specific answers you have to give specific information.

Hi I have put a cd into the changer but now cannot eject the cd, the stereo reads error 99 please advise

The CD, when inserted, became either wedged or not seated properly and the sensors dont know how to respond. Here are the codes for Kenwood.
Changer Error Codes
• E-00: Poor Cable connection.
• E-01: Magazine not properly set in changer.
• E-02: No Disc in magazine.
• E-03: CD does not have selected track number.
• E-04: Disc is dirty, upside down or unreadable.
• E-10: No data is recorded on the MD. The player plays the next disc automatically.
• E-99: Changer malfunction, disc may be caught in machine or changer requires service.

If you have a steady hand... carfully unscrew and open up the unit just far enough so you can either pull, or nudge the CD tray enough for the CD to be seated in the tray properly...
Good luck...

Is it possible to install a 3.5mm headphone jack input from an ipod directly into the car stereo? I don't want to use an fm transmitter. My '04 Mazda3 comes with the 6-disc cd changer but no tape deck or...

I have a 2003 Mazda MPV that has the stereo that you could add a cassette deck or MD to...I do not have either, but there is a button for it. I found a guy on the internet that made a chip that plugs into the back of the radio and has a 3.5mm jack on it that will play when you push the cassette/md button on the radio. It is great....sounds just like one that came from the factory.

Mp3 player or ipod connection

If you have a CD changer connected it is quite easy, if not I can't imagine a solution.
With a CD changer you need a cinch-Y-cable and a cinch-to-stereo jack adaptor. You connect these two to you ipod and the second port of the cinch-Y-cable to your CD changer.
Then you can burn a CD with no sound on it, but it must not be empty! You can use NERO Waveeditor to record "nothing" for the length of one CD and then burn this file.
If you play this CD in the CD changer and press the play button on your ipod you'll hear your itunes. If you play another CD in your CD changer while listening to your ipod you'll hear both sounds.

Have fun.

MD/CD Changer Control Options

press source button repeatedly to select "CD" or "MD" be aware that in order to connecting Ipod to a car stereo you will need to use an extension cable with 3.5 mm stereo connectors on each end to connect iPod to your car stereo system's aux input, or use a cassette adapter if your car stereo doesn't have a sound input jack. Either of these items can be purchased at stores that sell car stereo accessories. good luck!
