It depends on your brand of computer. Every brand has its own factory reset, but generally, if you have a recovery disc (Operating System Disc), insert it. Then shut down the unit. Turn it on and press F12 repeatedly. Boot device menu appears, select CD/DVD ROM. Then press any key to boot from CD. Then select English, and then select Partition 0 so that it will install the fresh copy of the software....

How do I do a Hard reset on my Gateway Acer laptop?

As we know, computers has no options for factory resetting. So what you need to do is install a fresh copy of windows and re-partition the hard drive, this will bring you a brand new factory state laptop.

Press F8 just before it boots and select restore. If your recovery partition is intact, that will reset to factory settings. You will lose any data and installed programmes!

How to reset back to factory settings

To reset your laptop to its factory state you need to restart or turn it on, then just tap F10, It will ask you on how would you loke to restore then select Restore system to factory settings. Usually it would ask you for a password just etern six zeros "000000" it should work. Please wait until the restore process is completed.

Note: All data will be deleted so make sure you back up them first before you do a Restore to Factory Settings
