Question about Xerox WorkCentre 470CX InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Fax not being sent

The fax is asking for a group code #. The fax will not complete task without this information. We have had the fax for a number of years and never had this problem before. Can we reset factory settings or is there a setting that has been accidently set?

Somehow, a group dial # has been set. Here is how to delete it:
NOTE: Group Dial Numbers are entered using the One-Touch keypad on the left hand side of the WorkCentre. To change a Speed Dial that is within a Group Dial, the Group must be deleted first.

  1. Press the [Menu] button.
  2. On the left hand side of the Control Panel press the One-Touch [12] button.
  3. The LCD Display will read 'Select One-Touch for Group [01-20]'.
  4. Press the One-Touch key to be used for the Group Dial.
  5. One of two displays will appear:
    • If the Group Dial number has not been used:
      1. The LCD Display will read 'Group No: ### 1. YES 2. NO'.
      2. Using the Dialing Keypad press [1] to accept or
      3. Press [2] to return to step four.
      4. The LCD Display will read 'Enter One-Touch / Speed Dial> ##'.
      5. Continue with step 6.
    • If the Group Dial number has been used:
      1. The LCD Display will read 'Group ## Used 1: Renew 2: Other'.
      2. Using the Dialing Keypad press [1] to 'Renew'. This will cancel the Speed Dial or Group Dial entry and the Group Dial will be deleted.
      3. Press [2] to keep the current entry and select another Group Dial
      4. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
        Thanks, Joe

Same fax sent out at same time to two phone numbers and fax now has same file number? error?

No error. Same fax is same original(s), even if sent to 10 different ph. numbers. I'm assuming this was accomplished using group dial? The report should show that file number associated with 2 different locations.

Hi zoaj,

More then likely you have the fax set up to USE A DIALING PREFIX.

Therefore it is automatically doing this, regardless of what you input.

Follow the proceedure below ( which comes directly from the users manual for your printer type ) to change this. Delete the " USE A DIALING PREFIX " information.

once that is done, it will no longer automatically add the prefix for you. :)

I have BOLDED the relevant information below that pertains to this.

Please take a moment to evaluate my solution. Your appropriate rating of my solution would be greatly appreciated.
