Water damage repair depends on many factors.
Salt water? while repair can be done, it has a tendency to creep back in 3- 6 months. Sweet water? better chances.
Then you go off to questions like, was the camera fully dunked and went for a swim?
Or was it just exposed to humidity and what type? how long?
All these details make a big difference in repairing.
first of all, take all the pieces out and air it out as much as possible. if you have those little baggies the remove humidity that is perfect, place in a bag along with those to accelerate humidity removal. Contact Teleplan Camera Repair for further info

Try to live with a spot under the front glass, because in most cases you won't be able to come anther the glass. In most cases the glass is glued in front of the display, to protect the display. Any attempt to open it, can lead to damage of the glass and dangerous situations.

I'm sorry to say this, but cameras die. It could just be that your camera was well loved, and has been affected by everyday wear, or it is suffering from water or other damage. In any case, you would have to replace the screen, which would be more hassle than it's worth. If you remember any sort of water damage, though, than you try try taking all memory cards and batteries from the camera, then putting it in a bowl of dry rice for about 2 weeks. I had an iPod touch 3rd Gen that suffered SERIOUS water damage and this perked it up.
I'm sorry to say their isn't an immediate fix, but this can hopefully help a little.

When I turn on my camera it just displays a white screen.. I can take pictures but can not see them until I go to download them onto my computer

This can be caused by either Water/Moisture damage or the LCD cable needs to be reseated
If you think it is water damage then not much you can do except for a replacement screen.. assuming thats the only damage. If you think it may have been dislodged you will need
to have an expert reseat the LCD cable.

It might be that she damaged the lens where you just got it slightly wet. damaged the lens or the CCD that receives the image itself. it might not be repairable at all, If its a case of water damage remove all power sources from it and use a hair dryer on low for a while to dry it out " make sure the screen itself does not heat up to much and focus on the lens. You may have to replace the camera or contact a repair person. I myself give any repair a try and most things with a little luck can be saved.

Camera screen blacked out in shooting mode

No, dont fret. It sounds like you just accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the screen on and off to save batteries. You would then just use the optical viewfinder. To turn it back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

At this point in the game it is too late you have to change your display screen it is either heat or water damaged or there could have been a strike or blow to the actual display screen damaging it. The display can be repaired through very technical procedures that most people cant locate the proper tools or perform the tedious task as a tech I feel It is always easier, cheaper to replace lcd screens rather than trying to locate a facility that can perform your request and do it in a costly manner you can do this yourself with a little patience just remember the process you used to take the unit apart and solder you joints or connecting wires. I'll be happy to walk you through it just ask wutxtye0rjd9d9ekmodqt1eoxkvn9hr9qjz1l3dabggyud7sdgr36czsrfxqenadhnijx9nfayi+sz1sug0aaaaasuvork5cyii=

Drowned Sony Cybershot S650

Hi Tc77,

Your camera can be fixed but it will be expensive to change the lcd screen your best bet is to buy a new camera as with a new camera your can get accidental damage cover so if anything like this happens you now the camera can be fix or replaced this is just a suggestion of option.
