Where are the fuses located in onkyontx-sv525- only found 1 at power in

If you pulled the cover and only see one fuse, and if it is not blown, then you need to search deeper for the problem. All replaceable fuses on the main board are viewable.

My tx-sv525 is turning its self on and off when ever i plug it in no matter if it has speakers hooked up or not. i have tried every speaker setup i can think of. whats the next step?

Speakers have nothing to do with spontaneous power ON. It either has a severe and dangerous internal power circuitry issue or it's sensing a remote control command to turn power on and off. Block thereceiver so it can't possibly see any external controllers and see if that stops it.

Receiver goes into protect mode after fifteen seconds of pushing power button. I think a pair of speaker wires crossed.

The manual is here:

http://www.retrevo.com/s/Onkyo-TX-SV525-Receivers-review-manual/id/365bh226/t/1-2/

Power it OFF before handling any wiring.

You could verify if any speaker wires being shorted is the problem by just disconnecting all of them and trying to power it up. If it fails to power up, it's sick and needs a hands-on tech to look at it.

If you don't actually SEE the problem while disconnecting the speakers, but the receiver DOES come on, try reattaching one at a time until you either have found the offending speaker/wire combination or you have success in turning it on and using it.

Speakers can be shorted, too. So if you locate a channel giving you trouble, say, front right, you could swap a different speaker or wire set into its place to prove if it's external or internal to the receiver.

Going forward, make sure you don't run the unit too loudly and give it plenty of room for cooling ventilation.

I have an onkyo TX-SV515 PRO receiver and the remote speakers will not turn on. The main speakers work fine but when I depress the button to turn on the remote speakers they do not switch on.

I had the same problem. You must turn on the remote speakers via the reciever and then adjust the remote speaker volume control that is only located on the remote control. The volume buttons are on the top right of the remote. It is briefly discussed in the owners manual which can be downloaded online.<!-- from fixya rte -->

Rear Speakers no Sound.

The rear speakers will only work when the Dolby signal processor or one of the 4 sound fields has been selected. In other words, the rear speakers won't "work" when listening in just Stereo, and this can happen if the "By-Pass" button on the front of the receiver has been engaged.
