Title:
"Lower the presser foot lever." appears on the LCD. Description:This message appears when the start/stop button, reverse/reinforcement stitch button, thread cutter button or the foot controller is pressed while the presser foot lever is raised.
· ----- Proper operation will sound
One beep------

· ------ Improper(wrong) operation will sound
Two or four beeps-----------

There is a lever behind the pressure foot that can be raised to allow you to lift the foot to put the fabric in place. When your fabric is under the point of the needle, lower the lever to put the foot down onto the fabric.
If the lever is down and its still showing the message that "lower the pressure foot lever" then try this procedure.Remove the thread/fabric completely out. Then remove the needle as well. Then clean the thread passing area. Now raise the lever completely up then lower the pressure foot lever.Do this same procedure for 5 to 10 times. Then again re-thread the unit fit the needle.Try to sew and check if same message comes up.If still the same message is seen then check if the pressure foot lever is got loose or looks like cracked or out of its alignment. If this is the lever needs to be checked and readjusted and replaced if its cracked.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

How do you use the buttonhole foot on a babylock companion 1550

1.Mark position and length of buttonhole on fabric.
2.Set button on the base and slide base forward to secure button.
* If button does not fit on the base, adjust slide on base to diameter of button plus thickness of button.
a= Length of button + thickness
3.Pass upper thread through the hole of buttonhole foot and attach buttonhole foot to machine.
Bring upper and bobbin threads to the left under foot.
4.Position fabric under presser foot so that the center line mark is in the center of the needle opening in the buttonhole foot. With the main part of the foot pushed to the back, lower the presser foot lever.
5.Lower the buttonhole foot lever so it is positioned behind the raised finger on the foot (see step 5 illustration). a
Note:Machine will not start to sew if buttonhole lever is not lowered properly or buttonhole foot is not positioned correctly.
Note:If machine does not reset for second buttonhole, be sure the presser foot raised finger is pressed against the lever.
6.Hold upper thread lightly and start the machine.

I need instuctions on using different presser foot for ja nome schoolmate

Please add a comment with the specific model of Janome Schoolmate sewing machine.

Fpr the Janome Schoolmate S-3015, make sure that the needle is fully up and raise the presser foot. Then press the red button on the back of the presser foot holder to have that foot drop off. Set the pressure dial to 3 before attaching the new presser foot. For snap-on feet, align the pin of the presser foot (the horizontal bar in the middle of the foot) under the presser foot holder. Lower the presser foot holder (using the presser foot height lever) until it locks onto the foot.

For the zipper foot, you need to fit the rear pin on the foot into groove at the back of the presser foot holder. Then lower the presser foot holder onto the zipper foot.

These are shown on page 11 (14 of the PDF) of the manual. You can download the manual here: http://janome.com/en/machines/sewing/schoolmate-s-3015/ . The direct link to the manual is http://janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/school-models/schoolmate3015.pdf .

For the S-7330, you need to again raise the needle and the presser foot. Press the lever towards (it moves slightly up, not down) the presser foot holder. Then line up the pin on the foot under the presser foot holder and lower the presser foot holder onto the foot so that it locks. This is also in that sewing machine's manual, here: http://janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/school-models/inst-book-s-7330esf.pdf . See page 14 (18 of the PDF).

I hope this helps.

Does anybody know why soon as I turn the machine on it makes a weird noise and the screen says raise needle bar and presser foot. I've tried everything, can anybody help?

Hmm. Raise the foot with the presser foot lever. You have to raise the foot up to get the fabric under the foot in order to see.

If the presser foot lever is already lowered and on the screen is lower the presser foot lever. What is this?

try turning it off & then back on
I've encountered the problem with my electronic sewng machine
it jams up & I turn it off & then turn it back on, that usually clear the circuit board
if it keeps doing it, I would suggest taking it to be serviced

What should I do when error message E1 hapend

An "E1" message appears on the panel. Description: The foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected) and the reverse/reinforcement stitch button was pressed while the presser foot is raised.

Lower the presser foot lever before continuing the operation.

When I attach the embroidery arm and turn on the machine I get an error to raise the presser foot lever even when it's already raised and it won't work at all. Works just fine without the embroidery arm...

My moms does the same. One way we got around it was to hold the presser foot all the way up and click the ok button on the screen. The other thing we did would be to hold the presser foot up all the way while turning the machine on while the embroidery unit was already attached. When I say raise the presser foot all the way up, I am talking about raising it up as if you were placing something really large under the foot, not just in the resting up position. Hope this helps - it is very frustrating! My sister has the same exact machine purchased at the same time as my moms, but she doesn't have this problem.

My sewing machine is flashing E1 AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT Dottie

Error code E1:Make sure the presser foot is lowered before sewing.

In order to get this error the foot controller has to be pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected), and the reverse/reinforcement stitch button needs to be pressed while the presser foot was raised.

The only solution offer by Brother is to lower the presser foot lever before continuing.

This seems a bit simplistic so assuming you tried that already
Check to make sure there is no tangled thread interfering with the take-up lever.

This seems to be a common problem and it may be related to a computer issue rather then a mechanical fault.

In this case you may need to have the machine serviced.
I hope something here helps. I will investigate more and if I discover anything else I will pass it on.

you may need to have the machine serviced.

Turn power switch to "0"
raise the needle to highest position by turning the wheel toward you(counterclockwise) and raise the presser foot lever
release the foot by raising the lever located at the back of the presser foot assembly
place a different presser foot on the needle plate so that the bar on the presser foot is in line with the slot on the shank
lower the presser foot lever and fix the presser foot onto the shank. If the p foot is in the correct location the bar will snap in you should hear a click or snapping sound let me know if this helped thanks! amy

Free motion

If the machine works on regular stitching and only messes up on free motion ,the most likely problem is the presser foot has not been lowered. Get everything ready to sew, lower the presser foot lever and pull on the upper thread near the take up lever. It should have tension on it. Raise the foot and try again, it should not have tension on it . If this is what you get, lower the presser foot lever and try it again.
