Question about Garden

I have a troybilt super bronco mower. the steering wheel flange was wearing out often and eventually i had to replace the steering gear when teeth went bad. Now the steering wheel flange has worn out the metal of the frame(or plate) that it inserts into. i don't see a replaceable part for that...

I'm afraid that if the flange has worn out and the parts are not available, you may have to have a welding shop fix it for you, if you have a good one in your town.

Good luck on this repair.

but that's what I'm saying-there doesn't appear to be a part for this-the flange has worn out the plate in the frame or body. i have the manual but this is not really a part to be purchased (that i can tell anyway)

Tightening steering wheel on husqvarna tractor 42in 15 horsepower no. yth1542

Interesting! The steering gear can commonly become loose at a several points. I would check the steering wheel itself, prise off the central plastic cover and make sure the nut underneath is tight. Check the gear at the bottom of the steering wheel shaft, if this gets loose it can jump the gear teeth. Sometimes this is so bad the steering wheel will turn without moving the wheels. Tighten everything and replace any worn parts.

How to make gears/teeth on lower part of steering line up on 268-H T Wheel Horse line up? Rmove deck, orwhat? There is some wear on the teeth, & was bumping last time I mowed. Now, won't turn at all.

There is a spacer/bushing on the very bottom of the steering column. With wear the bushing fails and lets the steering column/and gear on the bottom of it slip down to the point that the gears don't mesh. Replace the Bushing.

Cub cadet lawn mower steering wheel will not turn all the way to the right. It turns all the way to the left, but not the right. Checked the teeth on the fan gear, all are okay. what next?

Even though the teeth on the fan gear are ok, they may have skipped past each other a few teeth. My tractor has a bushing that the end of the steering rod passed through before attaching to the fan gear. The bearing was worn, allowing the steering rod to move, and the fan gear would then to lose it's grip from time to time, eventually making my tractor perform much like yours. See if you can replace that bushing, your issue should be solved.

Cub Cadet steering problem

If there is not excessive play in the steering it could be the differential is not functioning properly. The differential is what makes the drive wheel on the outside of a turn drive more than the wheel on the inside of the turn. If you can make super tight right hand turns all the time but lefties are an effort despite the steering wheels being almost or all the way to the stops have the transaxle checked.

The steering on my Husquavana 150 mower is slack and uneven, it turns sharp to left but not to right. Gear wheel at end of steering shaft is worn. How do I repair it with more sustainable solution. Thank...

replace steering gear and lower nyliner bushings on steering shaft. Also check sector gear for wear and replace if needed. When replacing gear place front wheels straight forward and center steering wheel-the unit should steer the same both ways then.
