Question about Wurlitzer Jukebox 1015 One More Time 100-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

My jukebox worked fine. I moved it to another room, opened the door and let the carousel move by pulling the lever. now it won't play a song but the numbers in the box flash instead of locking on a number and nothing happens

Does it display the number you put in to select the CD?

  • hdkbandpb Aug 16, 2010

no. It plays 45s instead of cds. I can punch 8 and turn the carousel. I can punch 7 and play the b side of the record and i can punch 7 and then a six right after it and it will play the a side. I think there must be a way to reset it. if i punch in a 3 didget number it will not do anything but flash numbers I do not understand. it is a newer 1015 not the original from the fortys' but sounds and works great. I can't thank you enought for trying to help me. that is what I do for others and it is great that you do so also. Spook

Most likely your light gate lamp is defective. I have these in stock, they are inexpensive, and I have complete instructions for changing it. Please email me for more information, tech@wurlitzer-ohio.com.

Select projector class room

The problem you describe is a timing issue. Because the 760H is so old (about 45 years old), parts availability may be slim to none.... You may be dollars ahead to buy a working projector off the internet.... Try: www.vinevalleyimaging.com

My sharp carousel microwave only works when I depress the door knob halfway down. What could be wrong ?

All microwaves have a safety lever or switch that prevents the unit from working if door is not closed all the way. Most of them you have to take the unit apart as access to it is from inside--what happens is when door is closed the latch or door moves the lever--seen a number where lever is loose or even the holder for it cracked.

Most shops are familiar with this and it should if the problem not be a real expensive repair.

Record tracking problem

There is a switch, or lever to a switch, that detects the end of the arm travel. For some reason, it is being tripped early. Try to open it up, and see what you can see. It doesn't sound like a broken part, but a dislodged part, maybe. That's all I remember, only had this problem once, years ago.

2900 Keeps playing records

THE WURLITZER JUKEBOX WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY SONGS AS LONG AS ONE OR MORE, SELECTING PINS (THERE ARE 200 IN THE 2900 ONE FOR EACH SONG. THE PINS ARE IN LOWER SECTION OF THE CASE. BETWEEN THE SPEAKERS , AND LOWER DOOR.)
REMOVE LOWER BACK DOOR. WATCH THE ARM THAT STOPS ON THE NEXT RECORD, BECAUSE THE PIN IS UP. AFTER STOPPING ON THE PIN, THE ARM PUSHES THE PIN DOWN. THAT IS THE NORMAL OPERATION. IF THE PIN, IS NOT PUSHED DOWN, IT WILL PLAY THAT OR ANY OTHER SONG THAT HAS A PIN IS RAISED UP. THE PINS ARE THE MECHANICAL MEMORY FOR THAT JUKEBOX.
TURN OFF POWER, ==PUSH ALL PINS DOWN== THE SONGS WILL STOP PLAYING. THEN MAKE A SONG SELECTION. THE ONE PIN WILL POP UP THE MACHINE SHOULD PLAY THAT SONG.
WATCH THE ARM THAT STOPPED TO PLAY THE SONG, PUSH THE PIN DOWN. THAT IS THE SEQUENCE OF THE 2900 MACHINE,
WHAT CAN GO WRONG IS AS FOLLOWS. ==THE ARM DOES NOT PUSH PIN DOWN== THE ARM MISSES PIN== THE ARM NEED OIL, IT IS NOT LUBRICATED.==.

CD palyer will not play all Songs

It sounds like the CD has to be initialized, so the jukebox knows how many songs are on the specific CD.

To initialize a CD, go into service mode, input code 31, then index the cd number (two digits), then hit "popular". return the jukebox to play mode.
The carousel should scan and load the CD you initialized, and then return it to it's slot.

It should now be able to play any song on the CD you select.

Only plays certain numbers

If it is a 200 selection machine you probably have a jammed number solenoid in the selector unit. This prevents the machine being able to move the solenoids to the correct number. Look at the circular selector unit with 'pins' on it under the carousel. at the bottom of that you will see a circular disc with 'teeth' all around it. When the jukebox is at rest or turned off you should be able to gently rotate that plate with the teeth on it. If it is jammed then that's your problem and will need some serious fixing.

First step is to get the jukebox open. I'm not entirely sure but apart from the lock there are two slide latches that need moving to undo the bottom half and then two more latches under the crossbar at the back to open the top half. If I've got this wrong sorry, I am doing it from memory.

Second step is to see that the crank arm under the carousel is hard up against a pin on the selector drum. Press the pin back down.

45's records won't turn and prior to that they only played side B

There's a motor under the back of the carousel about 11 oclock. You can see the drive gear if you bend down and look under the toothed base of the carousel. If you press the lever to rotate the carousel you'll be able to see if the motor is turning or not. If it is turning but the carousel isn't moving you could have a stripped nylon gear.

How do you get the arm back over the carousel so you can play a CD initially?

The gripper motor is powered by the K6 switch which is a copper wiper ring you can see at the end of the gearbox. If that is dirty or has a dead spot it will stop the motor before it should.
