Question about Trust TB-5300 Slimline Design

Open Question

Hello. I'm having a problem with my Trust Graphics Tablet. I'm using the paintbrush on GIMP. When I use my TABLET, the brush colour automatically turns to black and shifts WAY over to the left. The harder I press, the darker the colour becomes. When I use my mouse, the colour reverts back to the colour I selected and the brush shifts back to its original spot. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance. :)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: cursor restricted to top left area using graphics tablet

It's the windows 7 tablet feature that causes the problem. To solve it you have to disable it. Go to start -> search write "services.msc" (without the strokes) and hit enter. Now search for "Tablet PC Input Service" double click on it and when a little window pops up set Disabled under startup type list box. Now if you want to see effect immediately there is a button Stop, click on it, and wait until service is stopped. When done close both windows. This way you don't have to even restart your pc.

My Genius Easypen i405x cannot detect and sense pen pressure

I had the same problem. I have been using Win7. The solution is very simple: Uninstall your genius driver, restart your computer. Plug in the tablet, now the Windows should detect your tablet, wait a minute while the new drivers is installed. And from now it should work. Sorry for my English.

My Trust Slimline Widescreen Tablet won't hover, How do I fix it?

Your tablet is probably using the default built in tablet drivers for Windows. If you have the CD that came with it, try inserting it and installing drivers. If you don't have it the drivers are available at: http://www.trust.com/products/productdrivers.aspx?artnr=16529

Go to the URL above and click the Download button next to your version of Windows. Then run the downloaded file to install the drivers. After the install is complete you will want to restart your computer and it should work correctly.

Hope this helps, and thank you for using FixYa!

Is it just as easy to create graphics with a mouse as with a graphics tablet? and Why ?

It's easier to use a tablet. Think of it like this:
The tablet is used like a pencil. You have precision.
The mouse is used like your index finger, with not so much precision.
It's almost like comparing finger painting with brush strokes.
The real question is, what's the easiest FOR YOU? (:

Tablet pointer doesnt match up when working in programs like GIMP

Same problem is happening to me.

I completely understand your frustration. I contacted Trust and they replied that they had no reported problems of the sort, and that it was the software/my pc. :|

Figured out it has something to do with the pen pressure function.
It's only in software that uses it, that it does that with.

Once I figure the rest out, I'll let you know. ;)

My tool options box has detached from my toolbox on GNU GIMP 2.6. How do I get it to re attach?

Grab the word or line under the title bar of the tool options box (it'll say "Paintbrush" or "Eraser" or whatever tool you have currently selected) and drag it onto the docking area at the bottom of the toolbox.

For full details, see http://docs.gimp.org/2.6/en/gimp-concepts-docks.html
